TW-actress Chen Qiao En Ties the Knot with Non-celeb Husband Alan in Lovely Wedding in Langkawi, Malaysia

I would say it’s been a great year for TW-actress Chen Qiao En (Joe Chen) as she successfully transitioned to the elder stateswoman role of evil stepmom in hit C-drama The Double and also got married. She’s 45 years old so playing the mom/aunt role isn’t a stretch it’s just that most of us remember her as the fresh ingenue from twenty years ago hustling to make ends meet before meeting her frog who is really a prince. Most of her same gen TW-actresses all got married one after another in the last ten years so she is one of the last remaining still single until now, as she tied the knot with her non-celeb husband Alan who comes from a wealthy Malaysian family and the two met on a Chinese dating program and turned reel into real. They’ve been dating for a few years now so it’s not a fly by relationship and seems really low key and lovely from what they’ve shared. At the wedding were some of her girl group Seven Flowers mates as her bridesmaids and also her drama costars Ming Dao and Joe Cheng as groomsmen.

  • Congratulations! Wishing them happiness. Cool to see a dating show relationship actually work out.

I know she is 45 but she looks like she is in her 30s. She looked too young in The Double for her role especially opposite WJY who is in her 30s and looked too mature to be playing an 18 year old.

    • @sunny
Trust yu Zheng in making making actresses stretch our imaginations. Michele Chen as the iconic ethereal beauty and Wu Jin Yan as 14 or 18 year old girl.

    • I thought it made sense that Chen Qiao-en looked young since men like to get younger women for second wives and the actress who played her daughter is a younger actress who is 18 years younger than her in real life.

    • Yes, her acting was really good. I thought she looked familiar and I was so surprised when I saw the name as I was used to her youth Taiwanese dramas from back in the day.

  • I love her in Fated to Love You (still the best and most creative version among all) and the Double. She is a great actress.

    Congrats and long life together!

  • I loved so much Fated to Love you! (it's nice to see the banner on this website) I never like the Korean version, the TW actors were too good (even they were a little bit too many fillers at the end...)

  • Congrats to her! How I loved her and Joe cheng together for such a long time. lol. Everyone looks amazing and yes I agree with the comments her Fated to Love you was amazingly addictive.
