It feels like a blast from the past when I have to write a post about K-dramas in the same week with the same theme. It appears next year 2025 is going to be about period era soul-swapping, what with the sageuk The Moon Flows Over the River getting cast and now this new sageuk drama Dear Bandit. The drama has offers out to Nam Ji Hyun and Moon Sang Min to play a Hong Gil Dong type female bandit and a magistrate, respectively, who end up soul-swapping. Other than being perplexed that drama land is not just recycling themes but doing so at the same time, I do love the casting and feel like if the set up of the soul-swappers is different enough it could work and not feel derivative. If these leads accept then it will be a great pairing IMO.

I love her so much that this just feels like something she could pull off. I hope it is true. Not too familiar with main lead though.
Moon Sangmin is not ready for lead roles and he needs to stop being cast opposite older actresses.
Yeah why is his agency doing this
What NJH's agency is doing? They paired her with bad actor like PO or very green like Moon Sang-min... She deserves better!
Still don't understand PO's cast and his role . As for Moon Sang-min , i like him, his soft eyes but his acting is lacking . NJH is one of my faves with a solid acting . Perhaps ,she will be able to make his co star shine a little . Byun Woo-suk wasn't all that but Lovely Runner's role and working with a good actress as Kim hye yoon helped him . Who knows ? It may happen with this pairing . I hope so .
They paired her not with PO, but with Good partner drama, which seems was good choice
Yeah, but the love story was really bad and uncessary. She had a lot of scenes with PO.
To be honest I’ve only watched PO in hotel de luna, so I didn’t see him as bad actor. But he is definitely bad at good partner, Idk why his acting makes me uncomfortable this time
I don't know about this one. I'd be happy to see her in a lead role again, but I would love for her to ride the wave of Good Partner to a drama that's stronger than this one, pairing her with a stronger male lead. I really want that Angel Eyes reunion with her and Kang Ha Neul. A dramatic saeguk with her play a more serious role would be a nice change of pace. Kang Ha Neul's cameo in River Where the Moon Rises was such a tease. I'd love for him to play a general or a warrior like that character again.
Moon Sang Min and his agency are really dedicated to these noona romcoms. The last two were mediocre and did nothing for his career but maybe they think third time will be the charm lmao. At least he does have a supporting film role opposite Byun Yo Han and Go Ah Sung coming up which sounds interesting.
I like Nam Ji Hyun but I am always so confused by her acting career. She has starred in some very successful projects and some very forgettable ones but overall her career just feels so...random.
i dont get why this guy keeps getting lead roles, like none or most of his dramas are meehh.
It's not his fault tho? I would understand if you'd said his acting was meehh, but the dramas being meehh, he's not writing the script. And as a rookie actor he probably doesn't have much choice to pick better scripts.
I just hope this turn out to be good for everyone's sake.
Woah! It looks like MSM suffer of misdirected "hate" like other actors do. The guy is basically being blamed and being judged as guilty of everything other people do.
Nobody goes "rabid" on the agents, managers, screenwriters, directors and etc.
The guy is still seem as a rookie and from my experience in KPOP says that rookies can't even chose the color of their underwear on their own free will.
Wasn’t sure about one (loosely based) SeGa adaptation. Now we have 2 coming right up 😂
I adore NJH probably as much as I don’t care for MSM. He just has no screen presence at all similar to NIW. I don’t know if it’s the roles he chooses, or just a lack of energy on screen but I’ve never seen him in anything where he stood out for even 1 scene. NJH picks the best female leads, and the worst male leads to work with lol
So happy for a new period & romance genre for Nam Ji Hyun but when I saw the partner, cant help but feel disappointed. I can imagine them not having enough money to pay for more known and older actors but seriously :c NJH deserves better than this...
Moon sang min is memorable, I do remember he made a lasting impression on me when I saw under the Queen's umbrella. He sure wasn't forgettable there, I mean I remember him as much as I remember the queen, and that is something. That being said, I haven't seen his other works, because they're romance and I don't do pure romance for now. I believe if he's given a strong character he'll shine. Personally, if the only thing a character has to do is to be handsome and rich and love the FL, then of course he'd not be memorable. But since this particular character is going to require for him to dig deep like hyun bin did in secret garden (that drama and Hyun bin with ha ji won left a lasting impression on me), I believe he'll do great. I just hope his character has attitude, depth or something. That being said, I like nam ji hyun, I think she's a very good actress too. So I'm hopeful for this project
