Dang, C-actress Wang Chu Ran is definitely rolling in the right direction this year after last year’s career mishap one-two step with flop Fireworks of My Heart and her bad attitude/eye rolling controversy. After the summer release of Are You the One, decently reviewed and mid-tier in viewership, she’s been floated as the female lead for more than one drama. This week there is industry casting talk with she’s been offered the female lead in the C-drama adapted from web novel How Dare You (成何体统 Cheng He Ti Tong), which has already been made into an anime/donghua. The male lead and top billed is out to Cheng Lei who is also doing very well, he’s got a cameo in Fangs of Fortune out this month and his next drama Legend of the Female General with Zhou Ye is reportedly the 2025 opening year big tentpole release for Tencent. Anyhoo, I’ll keep my eye out to see which leads get confirmed for How Dare You in the coming months.

Haha I love how donghuas are being made into c-dramas, from novels. It's like they're using donghuas as a testing/sounding board before hopping onto a live adaptation.
