So Cheng Lei had a small breakout at the end of 2023 with My Journey to You and spent the next year filming C-dramas so he has two on deck for 2025 both of which I am mega looking forward to. There is of course the buzzy Legend of the Female General with Zhou Ye, but after that he filmed Shadow Love (与晋长安 Yu Jin Chang An) with Song Yi. Interestingly enough Song Yi is playing a female general as well in Shadow Love, and he’s joining her on the battlefield and in romance. Promos haven’t started yet for Shadow Love but it’s done filming already so it’s one I want to post about so I don’t forget about it.

I actually like Song Yi as a female General...I find she may be petite and gentle but she can really hold a weapon properly. And her eyes has very sharp and firm when she is tough.
Looking forward to this drama...I hope it will not be a trainwreck.
Zhou Ye will need to physically work harder to carry a role be a strong female general.
I love song yi in general, one of the better actresses in cent. And yes I agree! She is very gentle but has this pretty steely n tough look/side to her, and she holds her weapons well. I've seen the trailer for this n she looks convincing. Zhou ye on the other hand...not so much. Cheng lei is someone I'm looking forward to watching, he seems charismatic n has gravitas

I love these two novels. One is pure romance and military, the other has a fantasy element in it. Cheng Lei is on a roll. His upcoming dramas are worth waiting for.
I like Song Yi. She's really pretty in her own.
I actually like his selection. Both of his character seems interesting, but here's to hoping they'll actually be good.
