It’s almost time to find out what’s in The Trunk as streaming giant Netflix heads towards year end 2024 with two big K-dramas on deck in totally different genres and tonality. First comes The Trunk with Seo Hyun Jin and Gong Yoo premiering November 29th, adapted from a novel of the same name. It’s a psychological thriller that has Gong Yoo and Seo Hyun Jin entering into a contract marriage but not of the cohabiting hijinks that would be on deck if this was a rom-com. It’s moody and broody with Seo Hyun Jin delivering a shivery turn as a cold woman with a trunkful of secrets so it seems. This is a dream acting pairing for me but I’m not really in the mood for this genre ATM so let’s see if my tastes align when this arrives in a few weeks.

I'm sat for this!
Can't wait to watch this drama. GongYoo is my favourite korean actor. Although I can't understand what the story is about no matter how many times I read the synopsis but since it's triller and Gong yoo in it, I'll be watching
Yeah, Gong Yoo is back in a drama!
It wasn't really the marriage contract trope I was expecting but both actors are great.
This is my most awaited drama for the remainder of the year. I expected it to be dark and broody - that was exactly what this was described to be from the start, but seeing it in action is so exciting!! So glad to have GY back!!
Please be good. i miss something good for seo hyun jin. Like the enjoyment i have when watching dr romantic and another oh ha young.
The trailer doesn't show much but I heard good things about the novel. Though I'm not getting my hopes up given the quality of recent Netflix originals.
P.S. The elephant in the room... SHJ is looking so frail and thin that I'm getting worried for her.
I feel like i have trouble watching when multiple episodes are dropped all at once, so I'm not sure if I'm going to pick it up. But I like how it takes an rom-com plot trope and make something eerie and mysterious out of it.
