Before the arrival of high profile Netflix K-dramas The Trunk at the end of this month and Squid Game 2 at the end of December, this week a light hearted road trip caper K-drama drops on the streaming platform with a cute name of Mr. Plankton. Starring Woo Do Hwan, Lee Yoo Mi, and Oh Jung Se, it’s one of those screwball comedies that reveals itself to be a sweet and warm tale about found families and facing hang ups in life. I also see a lot of very unique K-comedic elements and it should make for a welcome lighter fare to watch as the prior K-drama to drop on Netflix before this was Hellbound 2.
Preview for Mr. Plankton:
There are weird casting choices and this one is weird from both the leads itself…
Well this is an interesting pairing, setting aside the age difference at least I can…
I swear I just wrote about Song Joong Ki having his first baby and then…
At the end of the day, the core of any good drama remains the Story,…
If I didn't know this drama was a romance set in space and done K-drama…
If Wang Xing Yue ever needs extra money he can be a professional dubber for…

The title just does not match the summary of the plot. I guess maybe plankton is solitary and alone? The titles they have been churning out just seems odder and odder. 🙃🤷🏻♀️
Seems like they’re trying any random title that could become top of the mind
I like the cast but the trailer didn’t even manage to make me smile. Exaggerated comedy is seriously not my jam.
Same.
Something about the tone makes me fear it’ll be like Jugglers (same writer). And I am still waiting on a refund for the time wasted on that before I dropped it. Sigh.
To be honest I love exaggerated comedy, but this one really wasn’t funny… I don’t think the directing style is suitable for comedy. If you look at the trailer, it was all random scene that’s packed tightly, but there is no scene that actually built up the comedic feel. It’s like seeing trailer for action movie
Yup, right on. It’s literally just a terrible trailer with no redeeming qualities. Even OJS looks awkward somehow. And he’s one of SK’s best actors.
Also, this is a rare Netflix exclusive rom com. So it’ll be very interesting how well it’s recieved it is since the whole thing would be Netflix funded.
The trailer of WDH snatching LYM with OJS chasing them with a cop car looks interesting… Imma wait for reviews first then will check it out
Seems like a good time for something odd, but sweet. Seems like 10 episodes is a good length since the trailer gives me 120 minute movie vibes.
Is this the only Kdrama update recently? LOL.
