Oh wow, I’m actually getting interested in this C-drama now. The First Frost is adapted from the novel First Frost which is the companion novel to Hidden Love which got an adaptation last year. This story is about the older brother of the female lead character in Hidden Love and his own romance. The First Frost stars Bai Jing Ting and Zhang Ruo Nan, and got early controversy when the male lead role didn’t go to the actor who played that character in Hidden Love. I don’t have a bone to pick with this casting and just hope its the correct one for the roles and story, and from the first posters and preview I’m feeling lots of melancholy and subtle attraction vibes. This drama recently got its airing permit and the episode count has gone up from 30 to 32 which is a good sign. I just hope it airs if not this month in December then in January because it has to air in the dead of winter to really deliver the seasonal feels.

She isnt a bad actress. But somehow her acting doesnt attract me. And she rarely have chemistry with her co-star. But probably BJT can save her

I only saw her in My Boss and I couldn't tell that she was in love at all, especially in the latter half. She's cute and sweet, but her eyes are so dead. That's important in romcoms when they slow mo the couple staring at each other so much.

I’m not biggest fan of the cast but I read the Manhua and I really enjoyed reading it. So I’ll watch it and hopefully the drama proves me wrong and it ends up being good too.

I was upset when I heard they were going to change the original actor because he did so well in the role but Bai Jing Ting is a really good actor so I know he'll do great. My issue is the ZRY. She's a decent actress but her kissing scenes are always so abysmal. I hope she's improved in this drama.
The novel was alil melancholic and angsty in parts. FL was pitiful and both had their own growing arc. The backstory if fleshed out properly can be a real tearjerker. I do believ BJT can showcast the assets, vulnerability and the lackings of Sang Yan. Zhang Ruo Nan is a paradox to me, she has the cute, sweet look and can probabpy pulloff MarySue bits but her chemistry (or the lack of) with her ML is previous works hav left me wanting. I do hope she has grew more relax in her delivery. Fingers crossed
