Gong Jun and Sun Zhenni in Talks for Period C-drama Inverted Fate
C-actress Sun Zhenni was already a female lead in two dramas but the unexpected good reviews and ratings for her just finished airing xianxia C-drama The Blossoming Love has given her another boost. She is now in talks as the female lead for the C-drama Inverted Fate (攻玉 Gong Yu) which is a project that will be headlining Gong Jun. It’s an A+ budget drama and reportedly a strong story line. A lot is riding on Gong Jun in his next drama the male lead centric Tales of Dark River but C-ent will continue to cast him because he has liuliang and also hasn’t been blamed solely for any of his recent dramas not being hits. I have a soft spot for him but it does seem like the limits of his acting ability are really hindering him in the most recent projects which are also not great scripts either. Sun Zhenni seems to have a good drama selecting eye so maybe her joining portends well for this drama.

She really did well in her last drama. I would not doubt her rising up the ranks. Hope for the best for her. Him on the other hand… I hope he practices and works on his acting because he can be so mid in his acting and it shows each project so far.
I second this! Sun zhenni was really good and she was really pretty in her last drama. She surprised a lot of viewers with how good she is given that she is also relatively a newbie as the FL. Hoping for her to have better productions and a better ML than Gong Jun
Gong Jun ain't going to do nothing but bring her down..lmao...How is this dude still getting lead projects is beyond me. I guess still having fans to make you being markeable counts😅. When was the last time since WOH that GJ actually showed his acting skills, improvement, anything???? I'm waiting on the drama where his styling looks really nice to actually prove me wrong. Does he also know he really have 30 mins??💅...because if these projects ends up to be failures...I don't think having fans will save his acting career. Did he take a look on all the younger talents tjat have been emerging recently??..Regardless of my criticism I hope this drama eventually does well.
his acting has actually declined since WOH... asking for improvement would be asking for a miracle at this point. dunno if his chemistry with ZZH was carrying his so-called acting before. he's had zero chemistry with any subsequent female lead.
The only reason he still lands lead roles is because he's skilled at cultivating parasocial relationships with his fans, which allows him to hawk products and harvest his fans to make capitalists rich—not because he has any real talent or acting skills. Any good script is wasted on him.
Sun Zhen Ni will be acting circles around him lol
It's an S+ budget drama, not an A+
Haters gonna hate. I will watch it for Gong Jun. Since I adore him in legend of anle. He is so so good there. But I heard the drama change the female lead.
