After watching the entire debacle that is When the Stars Gossip recently, space and sci-fi is currently on my shit list or at least has made me intensely wary of it especially coming out of Asian productions. China will be airing a big budget space and sci-fi movie this July during the summer season titled Per Aspera Ad Astra is a Latin phrase that means “through hardship to the stars” and is aimed at the younger audience by casting leads Dylan Wang and Victoria Song. The first poster and preview is out and the story is about two astronauts living in a modern life simulated reality but their bodies are in space in hibernation with an incident oncoming that requires them to wake up. Check it out, the preview doesn’t look back and at first glance it doesn’t look shoddily produced so a good first look.

When was this filmed?
I find it unfair to compare a film vs drama. Keeping a coherent and engaging story going for 10+ episodes vs 2 hours are completely different. China also has proven they can do space films well with the success of Wandering Earth. Whether this will be successful is to be seen though.
Looks fun! I will watch it :D
