tvN Starts Promos for Medical K-drama Resident Playbook with Go Yoon Jung with Release of Poster and First Teaser
I think the safe best is to soft launch the promos of Resident Playbook and gauge the public appetite for a medical drama. It should be fine seeing as The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call was a big hit, but that drama was about ER type cases but this is more the slice-of-life of a med school student in residency period and that may still irk netizens the wrong way with the whole expansion of medical profession plus strike fiasco from last year. Last year in 2024 this drama was supposed to be female lead Go Yoon Jung‘s next level career rise after getting buzz from Alchemy of Souls and Moving in 2023 but due to the delay she had an off camera year with no aired works but with this drama out next month and then her romance drama with Kim Sun Ho also coming out this year in Can This Love be Translated, I’m excited to see if she has a big career year with one of both of these dramas.

Because they are not doing well with the flopped Potato
TVN needs to cut the Potato Lab short if they want to save face. The 3 consecutive flops are going to be hard for the network to get future investors.
They have to start The Resident Playbook early. This drama may be their savior.
