As the public reveals and denials, and now lawsuit cases, continue on in South Korea, this week it’s clear the news coverage over the Kim Soo Hyun allegedly dated then minor aged Kim Sae Ron scandal in the media sphere has also notably changed. In the early days of the scandal about two weeks ago, it was clear the mainstream domestic SK media was not covering the Garo Sero Institute reveals on behalf of Kim Sae Ron’s family, the articles were few and the searches were noticeably being muted. The English speaking media had basic coverage simply as allegations and scandal with neutral language. This week after Kim Soo Hyun’s so-called emergency and urgent press conference without any Q&A questions, the media coverage has changed in tone. The domestic media is seeing more articles critical of Kim Soo Hyun’s press conference (chicken poop tears, performative, no substantive issues addressed), and even the big English language SK newspaper The Korean Herald wrote an article on it and added coverage that there is a petition getting more signatures by the day to amend South Korea’s underage relationship laws to increase the age and the petition is being called embarassingly for him “The Kim Soo Hyun law” lol.
Big name US tabloid TMZ is in DGAF mood and baldly titled its article on the press conference “Actor Kim Soo Hyun I Never Had Sex With Kim Sae Ron When She Was a Minor” double lol, and K-netizens are calling Kim Soo Hyun the national shame for being referred to in that headline as denying being a pedophile by Western media. The backlash and criticism are primarily on Kim Soo Hyun getting full makeup (eyeliner, fake eyelashes, foundation, lip gloss, and hair piece) and dressed up like he was a male lead doing a drama press conference scene, no personal reference to ex-girlfriend Kim Sae Ron and only calling her “the deceased”, referring to himself as Star Kim Soo Hyun v. Human Kim Soo Hyun, sobbing and crying, and no substantive rebuttals of each of the evidence revealed just cherry picking the 2016 and 2018 texts alleging it’s not the same person. GSI afterwards released a new video of Kim Soo Hyun eating Kim Sae Ron’s chicken stew at 11:20 pm saying it was from 2018 when she was still a minor, and his agency Gold Medalist actually confirmed it’s a real video and the date is real, but claims it was held at Kim Soo Hyun’s apartment and she was there as a friend and his family was there as well. I’m dying here smalls, that’s such a laughable denial but at least they admitted the date of the video and its authenticity. GM has released more specific denials of pictures released by saying each one was from 2019-2020 when they dated as adults. GSI also continues to release more pictures and texts.

I did read many mainstream media did not report much on this. Kim Soo Hyun backers are powerful. But now it has changed. Anyway, it is time for them to fight in courts. I think Kim Sae Ron's parents have given her a voice. The truth is knew between those involved.

Another celebrity would have already been cancelled, ...even without waiting for a court verdict or legal battle, Seo Ye Ji,Park Hye Soo, Song Ha yoon , just to name a few ones , were "blacklisted" after articles appeared so why not putting him on stand by , to take the time to sort out something about all this ? I don't know if his agency has a lot of workers, if it's the case , they may fear for their job, it's sad for them . GM handled it poorly ...futur will tell . I have not watched his drama in years...even Queen of TEars..`i say a clip of him crying and said to myself, he is not for me. I found his acting too dramatic. I will not miss not seeing him again. Regardless this scandal happened or not. I did not help his drama rating, I will not be missed too 🤣.
I want to move on to other news now, since the court will be dealing with all his numerous lawsuits. Kim Soo Hyun need to file the lawsuits or he will loss so much more. As for his company, I dont think his cousin is someone I trust. I do suggest their staff to find another job as soon as possible. Who knows what will happen to this agency.

His other fans on X are mass reporting on accounts who also reported on what Garo has uploaded or any account that has a lot of followers who are not favoring KSH.

Just because it wasn’t “official” in his eyes till 2019 doesn’t make their relationship prior to qualify as “not dating”. She was a minor when he wrote her letters from the military and cooked him the chicken stew late at night in 2018. His parents were home then to chaperone? So they were complicit? And let’s get real, he enlisted in 2017. No one I know suddenly gets a close female friend whilst serving in active duty in the military? So they must’ve had “some” prior to his enlistment in 2017? Enough for him to write sappy letters from the military and sending her personal pics and saying, “I miss you”? Her timeline makes more sense to me than his.

Judging by the released messages exchanged, prior to being in the army, they weren't having a physical relationship/sex. During his army duty there was limited time that they could meet up. On one of those rare occasions he stood her up - was with others, got drunk, had a massage, instead. Maybe it's my western perspective but if that was all she was getting from him, no mention of actual dates they went on, few silly/childish messages, him not bothering to meet her on the rare occasions that he could, I can see it as not dating/not being in a committed relationship.
As she was a minor, plus the big age difference, then possible grooming seems the more likely, going on the exchanges we've seen. Of course, if there are a lot more exchanges that have yet to be released, with more intimate/passionate content, acknowledgement to actual dates prior /during his army duty, then yes but we haven't seen it, so far. There definitely should be messages to the effect "when can I see you next? It was great... Thanks for the.... See you soon, can't wait, etc., etc.,

The entire content relating to KSH on KSR's phones should be released. Well, it shouldn't if they think about the privacy rights/respect for the deceased/others but that point has well been passed.
Personally, it was/is the ongoing criticism/hounding of KSR that she wasn't able to go back to acting, that bothers me the most. I hate the letter demanding debt repayment - that must have really hurt her and led to so much of what followed. Her trying to get in touch with him, him ignoring her, her posting the photo to get his/the agency's attention, his agency denying any relationship to avoid negative publicity/scandal, her getting the brunt of online attacks. IF Gold Medalist had no intention of reclaiming the debt they should have made her aware of that before not after.
I wonder how many signatures the petition has by now. I read somewhere it needed to reach 50.000 within 30 days and had reached 20.000 on the very first day.

You would think the Korean ministry of culture would be embarrassed that their legal age of consent was 13, then raised to 16. The Koreans always want to be "american like", so a petition to raise the age further, like 18, is an excellent initiative that will protect future youngsters. Maybe then there will be fewer Kim Sae Ron-like sad stories.
