Period C-drama The Days of Seclusion and Love Lowers Budget as it Finalizes Cast of Deng Wei, Rising Actress Vanda Margraf, and Second Male Lead Wang You Shuo
C-actor Deng Wei is finally going back to the filming set after a year and a half not having an actively filming project. His next role will be the male lead of period C-drama The Days of Seclusion and Love, and if that title sounds familiar its because the project has been in works for over two years and has had many different lead actors and actresses connected to it at various points. Production is slated to begin next month in May 2025 so this is likely the final casting. Deng Wei has been rumored to be the male lead for many months now but his female lead has once again changed. It most recently was Li Qin but has now changed to rising young actress Vanda Margref, she’s of the Dai ethnic minority in Yunnan and has that mixed visual beauty in the same vein as Dilraba Dilmurat and Guli Nazha. The second male lead has also been revealed and it will be Wang You Shuo. The production budget after these latest casting changes has been dropped from S to A budget and will be filmed accordingly.

Honestly I can't wait for his big break. Him and Hou Ming Hao get tons of flack for their faces etc. but I DO NOT CARE. Ever since I saw WYS for the first time in that cringe drama Blooms of Pavillion, I was in awe.
I want WYS to get his big break since he's pretty solid, but not the kind of traffic-actor fame that can box you in.
Going from Li Qin to a newbie is quite a leap.

I like Deng Wei now. Lol. I guess he was doing a good job at acting in "Lost You Forever" because he had me super convinced he was just a smiley, dopey, lovesick puppy. In "Love of the Divine Tree", he actually had strong presence in his performance, so yay.
