Filming Wrap Special BTS for Modern Romance C-drama Speed and Love with Yu Shu Xin and He Yu Capture the Mood of Location Shoots in Bangkok, Hainan, and Nanjing
I love when a well done trailer plus a genre that gets my interest up dovetail perfectly to ramp up my excitement from idling to full throttle. I’m talking about upcoming modern romance C-drama Speed and Love adapted from the novel Double Track, and writing this out makes me connect that the male lead is speed and the female lead love lol. The drama stars Yu Shu Xin and He Yu as not blood related former siblings separated in elementary school age who totally see other in non-sibling ways after they reunite as adults. I mean, Yu Shu Xin’s character Jiang Mu is not blind in this drama so like, no shit she can’t stop shooting heart eyes at her “brother”. He Yu clearly for the memo when he signed up for this role and is knocking it out of the park with the bad boy exterior and marshmallow only for her interior as big bro Jin Zhao. The production also released an official Making Of video celebrating the end of filming and shows the filming from gritty Bangkok to sunny seaside Hainan and finally ending in Nanjing. I also know why this drama is making me so giddy with anticipation, it’s because the most recent C-drama modern romances have all been unicorns vomiting up rainbows hugs and kisses meet cute type dramas like Ski into Love and The Best Thing and while The First Frost is darker it’s just melancholy slowness with not much happening. This one feels like a shot of adrenaline mixed with dopamine.

This and Zhu Yu with Zhang linghe and Tan Xiawei as well as the new Yang Zi drama had the best trailers. Iqiyi has a bountiful lineup for 2025-26. They’ll get past their slump from last year with three solid dramas already with Moonlight Mystique, The Best Thing and Demon Hunters Romance. The chemistry in this trailer has already created a major buzz online.
I think its the same director of Forbidden Flower hence the gritty vibe! I'm excited for this one. The novel is very angsty and He Yu is exactly what I pictured....
Yes it’s same director and scriptwriter as Forbidden Flower and the vibe is exactly the same! I prefer this CP and He Yu is killing it with the bad boy who’s all soft on the inside. More skinship and chemistry because this couple is more age appropriate than in Forbidden Flower. The music, filter and fauxest are all reminiscent of early 2000s drama. We all need this!
