GRAH! Ladies and gent(s)…..presenting the first ever official still from the Da Mo Yao drama adaptation. Tangren just released the first and only (as of now) picture of Liu Shi Shi as Yu Jin (I’m calling her Yu Jin because this outfit is clearly from her Xiong Nu days, where she still went by that name). I’m dying to see the stills of her as Jin Yu when she heads to Chang An and switches over to the Han dynasty garb. In addition to the Xiong Nu and Han outfits, a few more costume changes in store will be the blue Luo Lan outfit that Jiu Ye gives to Yu Jin, when she cross-dresses as a soldier in Huo Qu Bing’s army, her Gui Su outfit with veil when the archery competition with Yi Zhi Xie and Huo Qu Bing occurs, and finally her more mature Han attire when she returns to Chang An (which include a set of outfits I can’t reveal yet because the chapters haven’t gotten to that). Tangren still refuses to divulge the name of the other male lead, or show pictures of Hu Ge in costume which will clearly show whether he’s Jiu Ye or Huo Qu Bing. Whatever, I’ll keep insisting he’s Huo Qu Bing (as everything from Baidu to Wiki claims he is), until I’m told otherwise.
Ladyboss also tweeted a picture of the accessories wall for the DMY costume department. C-netizens are furious because almost all these accessories have been used by Tangren before in their other dramas, ranging from LoCH2008, CP3, Crappy Sword (Oops, Xuan Yuan Sword), etc. I frankly want them to save their money for some decent CGI, and maybe find some doggies that actually resemble wolves. I don’t mind recycled jewelry. Plus most of the items were never worn by Shi Shi in those other dramas, so it’ll be interesting to see her in a more passionate and wild get up. Tong Hua weibo’d this morning that she saw Shi Shi’s official costume photo as Yu Jin and fell in love. She thinks Shi Shi looks much more beautiful in her DMY costume than in her Qing garb (as Ruo Xi in Bu Bu Jing Xin). This coming from the author, I think Shi Shi has already gotten the stamp of approval. I need MOAR DMY goodies~

apparently LSS continued the fittings from yesterday, starting today at 8 in the morning.. with 20+ different costume fittings and six stages(?) and the male leads are expected to join the production team starting tmw.... which would legitimise eddie peng's idyllic cycle through the mountainous countryside today and still not put to rest rumours of him being involved in DMY pdn i guess.. ahhh why on earth am i wasting time speculating here... 2 more days! *runs back to the term paper mode*

ohhh interesting... not one of my favourite period costume for ShiShi but I agree that it looks very gypsy-like, which does a great job of representing her sense of freedom during her time in Xiong Nu. Not really liking the hair piece cause I always look forward to the period hairstyles but I suppose I'm just more used to Han or Qing period costumes. I guess I imagined more colour usage instead of being colour coordinated but otherwise, no complaints from me. Can't wait until we get to see her other costumes, probably going to have to wait until filming starts but excited none the less.
Oh, Shi Shi looks so young and lovely! I love it!! I think at this rate, it's pretty much Hu Ge or bust for HQB. I mean, can you imagine the chaos that will ensue if it's not him? Ahhhhh....I want MOAR too!
