Jo Jung Seok Films Taiwan Tourism Promotional Mini-movie with Ivy Chen

Looks like Ivy Chen is continuing her quest to star opposite as many hot K-actors as possible. Following her turn opposite Super Junior‘s Choi Si Won and Lee Donghae in Skip Beat, she followed that up with a C-drama with Chun Jung Myung earlier this year. She’s been filming successive C-dramas in China all year but last month she went back to Taiwan to film a series of webisode mini-movies for the Taiwan Bureau of Tourism opposite Jo Jung Seok. The websides are geared for the Korean market and is filmed in both Chinese and Korean with a Korean PD at the helm. A short teaser was released and the gist of the story appears to be Jo Jung Seok traveling through Taiwan solo and takes the wrong train and Ivy ends up showing him around. Apparently the production spent days in the gorgeous Sun Moon Lake area in Central Taiwan filming, and I can personally attest that the scenery there is jawdroppingly amazing. When I watched the teaser I almost wanted to cry because the first thing going through my head was “OMG, Eun Shi Kyung isn’t dead at all, it really was a feint, he’s now living in Taiwan and no longer putting his life on the line for King and Country.” But then I remembered poor Princess Jae Shin (and her bird) and felt like Jo Jung Seok was cheating on her with Ivy. Heh. Dramas, sometimes fact and fiction blends in the brain and one needs a good head shaking to clear away the cobwebs. The directing for this bit of tourism promotion actually looks fantastic, with a dreamy and romantic vibe about it.

  • I was grinning from ear to ear watching this teaser!! I want him back in a drama!!!!!!!!!! Or a musical by early next year would be better, maybe March/April.

  • Hahaha. When she gently wakes him up, his first words are "对不起" and not anything else in hangul such as 죄송합니다. ^^

  • Omg this is too cuteeee. Is it just me or are webisodes super popular right now? I feel like lee min ho's Camry commercial started it haha...and then Peter an Janine's State Farm one and now this :o they're very cute though so I'm not complaining! XD

  • It 's too Korean...... Doesn't have a Taiwanese feel to it. They should have had a Taiwanese direct it since it is about promoting Taiwan. I wish the director had been the guy who made Au Revoir Taipei.....My ideal would have been Hou Hsiao Hsein. I love the trains and trains stations in Taiwan. Something so charming and old fashioned about them. I hope they never modernize and make them high tech and soulless. Reminds me of train stations in Europe.
Taiwanese sensibilities is very different from Korean. Very laid back and very happy to be in their own skin.....I really want to travel there one day. Tho' I enjoy Kdramas and have a Samsung smart phone.......I am not really interested in going there. The country seems too driven, too uptight....too much pressure.

    • hmm i was just thinking, the cinematography looks like it was from a korean drama/cf. it might be due to the director.

    • "The websides are geared for the Korean market." They're being made for a Korean audience, so I think it's on purpose that it has a Korean feel to it.
