Have you guys ever played “One of these things is not like the others”? It’s an awesome teaching tool because visually children pick up differences quicker than by being told something is different. When I saw the latest stills for the upcoming sageuk Sword and Flower (English romance novel-y title The Blade and Petal), I burst out laughing and that game immediately popped into mind. Starring Uhm Tae Woong, Kim Ok Bin, Choi Min Soo, Kim Young Chul, Kim Sang Ho, Park Soo Jin, and CN Blue’s Lee Jung Shin, y’all know who imma talking about that is sticking out like a pretty boy sore thumb, right? I have no clue whether Lee Jung Shin will rise up to the challenge of acting opposite possibility the most heavy-hitting main cast in K-drama round-up, but his first official stills posing with a sword fan was so cheesy I can’t even. However, all that cheese was promptly forgotten when the first stylish teaser landed today piping hot and gorgeous. I don’t think I’ve been this excited to see two older dudes duke it out for overlord supremacy than the thought of Kim Young Chul as King Yeongnyu and Choi Min Soo as Yeon Gaesomun fight for the rule of Goguryeo. The Romeo and Juliet-esque love story between their kids Princess Moo Young and bastard son Yeon Choong plays second fiddle in getting me all excited. A few more cast additions since I last posted about this drama – little Lee Min Ho (of The Moon Embraces the Sun and Rooftop Prince fame) plays the Crown Prince of Goguryeo and brother to Moo Young, Goo Won plays a warrior, and Oh Joo Wan plays the captain of the King’s Guard and cousin to Moo Young who betrays the royal family and later gets installed as the puppet King by Yeon Gaesomun. Deceit, lies, and betrayal, this drama looks good and has the potential to be epic. Don’t screw it up, KBS!

This is looking good... Kim Ok Bin looks so gorgeous.
Well looks MUCH better than the mess with MGY... She can be lucky that her pottery sageuk won't compete against this.
Woah! I dont expect this. .. but the teaser look really promissing.
I did not plan to watch this before, but now i'm def watch it.
Me too! I'm here for the dads duking it out. The Romance is second fiddle.
That trailer is so cool. Please let the drama actually look at least half this good and I'll be happy!
Oh, Choi Min Soo. Oh, Choi Min Soo. I love this man in everything. I think he can actually cut steel with his stares.
Looks more like a movie rather than the drama based on the teaser.
Agree! I hope they could retain this "movie-like" feel throughout the drama.
Wow trailer looks great and looks like a high budget drama. I hope it doesn't disappoint like Faith did.
