The K-ent love train keeps chugging along in 2013 as if making up for a few slow years of couple news. While the year’s biggest shocker of a couple remains the one who set off this domino effect on New Year’s day (namely Rain and Kim Tae Hee), let it be said that they probably just opened the door so that other couples could go public. Because let’s not delude ourselves into thinking the oppars and noonims were not getting all close and cuddling on set and in the agencies. Now they can simply do it out in the open. Last week got a double hit of slightly lesser impact in two celebrity couples outing themselves in succession. First came rising young actor Lee Sang Yeob admitting that he;s dating his same-agency hoobae Gong Hyun Joo. Both belong to Sidus HQ and I can’t lie and say I wasn’t secretly shipping Sang Yeobie with his I Live in Cheongdamdong co-star Oh Ji Eun, who is also in the same agency. Goes to show how strong onscreen narrative can influence how we perceive total strangers should date. Congrats to these two, who apparently have been close for the past year since Gong Hyun Joo helped Lee Sang Yeob prepare for his Chinese debut. He’s currently over there filming a C-movie with Han Geng (you know, formerly of Super Junior). I’ve loved Sang Yeob in all three of his most recent dramas ILICDD, Nice Guy, and Jang Ok Jung, Live in Love. Gong Hyun Joo barely registers with me since she was so bland in the lovely Flowers for My Life, but if they are in love then go for it! The other couple comes straight from reel-to-real in co-stars Jang Shin Young and Kang Kyung Joon who played the OTP in this year’s makjang daily Thorn Flower. While the other three are pretty new to the celebrity public relationship thingie, Jang Shin Young is finding love again after marrying young to her former agency’s executive director and divorcing a few years later though they have a son together. During the three years of her marriage she took a hiatus from acting but has since been back on all cylinders. Congrats to these two latest outed couples to join the loooooong list from 2013. As usual, I support whoever floats their boat.
There are weird casting choices and this one is weird from both the leads itself…

JSY&KKJ had a nice chemistry in Thorn flower.., but dating surprised me.
Congrats to the new couples...
I won't lie, I fell a little in love with Lee Sang-yeob in Nice Guy (such a cutie!) and I'm super happy for him and his new love, but won't he have to go into the army soon? :(=
Since he was born in 1983 he probably did it already...
