Poignant and Tender Heirs Stills for the Episode 15 Tan and Eun Sang Hand Hold

Good gracious who picks Lee Min Ho‘s outfits in Heirs/The Inheritors? It’s been mostly a non-stop fail party since episode 1 with the only decent one being his school uniform. He gets the most screen time as the male lead, and so does his consistently headscratching outfits that range from down right fugly to perplexing. This one for the upcoming poignant romantic scene with Park Shin Hye is one of those perplexing ones. The second I laid eyes on it, my mind flipped through a rolodex of blues trying to pinpoint the exact shade. Cerulean? Azure? Cornflower? Royal? It’s definitely a very unusual blue, made all the more BLUE by the matching angora sweater in the same color family. I’ve owned angora sweaters and lemme tell you that mock turtleneck is probably itching the heck out of Lee Min Ho, not to mention it makes him look neckless. I guess I should give thanks for Tan’s outfits getting relatively less eye-hurting compared to his wardrobe in the episodes right after getting back to Korea. That pink cardigan is seared into my brain forever. The pink lipstick craze also seems to have abated somewhat, perhaps the make up department ran out of lipstick since every character was wearing the same shade. On a story related thought, I’m looking forward to how Tan and Eun Sang deal with the increasing pressure from Chairman Daddy to break them up, hopefully with a twist on the usual strong arm tactics of the rich and powerful. Kim Eun Sook is pretty good at staging memorable OTP scenes and so far she’s done a decent job in Heirs. Nothing to write home about but this one I like because of the visual imagery as well as the slight gesture that conveys so much. Tan is headed into the study for a pow-wow with Daddy and he passes Eun Sang in the living room. They barely acknowledge each other but their hands and fingers clasp together at the very moment they are parallel with each other, before they continue walking and their hands finally break apart when they have moved too far. Nicely staged and hopefully this scene is not accompanied by the soul-deadening crooning of “Love is the Moment”.

  • Crossing my finger that they won't brake up at all b/c both have been very forward about their feelings.

So cute that although they don't acknowledge one another they kinda hold hand. ---- which mean------ > they are going to go through this together !!!!!! :)

  • LOL! I love your comment Koala about how hopefully this scene isn't accompanied by 'LUVVV IS THE MOMENNTTTT!!'. I hope it doesn't play either during this scene. *crosses fingers*

    • Ok I bet they will play LOVE IS THE MOMENT during this scene. Who wants to bet with/against me. LOL They have done so every time Eun Sang and Tan are together so far. We'll just have to watch and see. That song is getting to be annoying.

    • Yes - why does that song get trotted out to underscore in exclamation marks every somewhat poignant emotional scene. It completely takes me out of the moment

    • He needs to fire his stylist and get a new one along with a new wardrobe. On the other hand, it's been amusing to poke fun of his wardrobe. :D

      • Heirs has been fun both on the watch and snark level. It's weird on Tan gets hit with most of the fashion fail in this drama though.

      • Definitely weird...maybe they want Tan to stand out as the "Heir of all Heirs" with inclination for eccentric fashion, if it is even called that. Thank goodness LMH is easy on the eyes that no matter what he wears one can just disregard the eye sore and focus on his face. :D

      • Once again, I look at what he is wearing and think, 'oh, I would wear that in an instant..' problem is, I am a pudgy 50-year-old white lady from the suburbs. I would love to know who is making his style decisions, and why they have been rifling through my catalogs. And what coded messages they are sending with these sweaters. There must be a coded message, right?

  • It takes a person that knows style to appreciate style. I guess you just don't have it.

    Lee min ho looks great!

  • I actually like that 'Love is the Moment' song. I like a lot of songs in Heirs, I like that 'Mariaaaaa' song as well. I'm yet to find a song as annoying as 'Almooooost Paaaaradiiiiiise' in any of the K-dramas I've seen recently. And also, I like a lot of the clothes Tan has worn in this drama, with the exception of that awful pink sweater and that coat he wore to visit his brother when he returned to Korea. Those clothes belong in the 'burn baby burn' pile. I especially like this blue sweater, it's so cute I want it. Looks really comfy.
