A Jolt of Gorgeous Kim Bum in C-drama V-Love as His Entertainment Break Hits Six Months

There are a myriad of reasons for entertainers to take a sabbatical in their careers, sometimes by necessity such as mandatory military service for the Korean men, or personal reasons, or simply a lack of good projects in the pipeline. I can only chalk up Kim Bum disappearing from the radar for the last six months as a sabbatical due to dating. What other reason than the most logical major change in his life right before he went into deep hiding? Or it could be that he really did need the time off to recharge his artistic batteries since he was a major workaholic in 2013. He started the year off with That Winter, the Wind Blows, then activities all over Asia in terms of CFs and shows, promotion for the movie Young Detective Dee, and finally the filming of the sageuk Goddess of Fire. I thought his month long European vacation with GoF co-star and girlfriend Moon Geun Young was a chance for both of them to unwind, then he rushed back to Korea to do a TWTWB fan meeting in Japan with Jo In Sung afterwards.

Since then he’s been noticeably MIA in every way and I cannot for the life of me find even a peep about him while his sweetie Moon Geun Young resurfaced in April at the Han Gong Ju premiere and also did a Marie Claire Korea magazine pictorial. I thought it a good time to remind the world of Bummie’s glorious dimples and trademark smirk, last year he filmed a cameo appearance in Yang Mi produced C-drama V-Love (微时代之恋) playing a wealthy restaurateur in Shanghai. The drama wrapped filming a while ago but there is no set airing date yet which is normal for C-dramas. I’ve been holding onto a folder of stills of Bummie in character and on set to post when the drama revved up it’s promotional machine and found an air date, but with Bummie’s disappearance from the public eye it’s time to trigger a feast for the eyes to see him styled all stereotypical rich, tall, and gorgeous on the set of V-Love.
