I was excited enough writing about how the J-dorama version of Nodame played by Ueno Juri just happened to be in Korea at the same time that the K-drama version of Nodame Shim Eun Kyung had just started filming Tomorrow’s Cantabile. Then comes the icing on the cake seeing a picture of the two lovely ladies meeting during Juri’s visit to Korea. One, two, three….awwwwwwwww. Too bad Tamaki Hiroshi is filming his upcoming dorama right now otherwise he should just jet over to Seoul and give Joo Won a pointer or three. I don’t think Shim Eun Kyung needs any pointers from Ueno Juri, if there is a young K-actress that can literally act any type of character that actress would be Shim Eun Kyung. My worry is that the K-version of Nodame will be all sorts of watered down.
I understand the loyal fan gripes about how the first stills of Shim Eun Kyung as Nae Il are too pretty and too neat. I get the dichotomy of Nodame as basically a disgusting hoarder at home but relatively cleaned up in public, but overall her general mien is mind in the piano clouds and with little attention to social details. Having her look too put together runs counter to a fundamental facet of her character. At least Ueno Juri is excited and supportive of this project so I’ll toss my worries in her lot and continue to keep the faith. Check out more pics of Juri at the Korea Japan Festival this week where she definitely rocks the quirky style to the max. She is basically wearing a hobo-esque dress that looks like three different outfits patchworked together, yet she makes it work and makes me think she looks cute. That’s a whole lotta undeniable charm.

I really like both Shim Eun Kyung and Joo Won that I'm willing to commit 16-20 hours of my life watching this remake. Not really expecting it to be the same as the jdrama version but I have faith that this is going to be one of the best kdrama in 2014.

As much as I am not fond of Japanese to Korean remakes. I have faith in Shim Eun Kyung to deliver acting wise (hoping and praying that they have written Korean Nodame well) and yes I'll probably watch it to see her and of course to see Joo Won and SEK couple. :)

I've always liked Juri, she's a strong actress. The only thing she's not suitable to do is taiga dramas. (historical dramas)
But Juri's outfit is very Nodame. I wonder does she still play saxophone as that's a instrument she really plays or played.
Shim Eun Kyung can pull Nodame off, I'm just worried they'll water the character down to the remake and just make her into a sweet girl next door who's a bit messy.
Not sure about the sax, but Juri used to play the piano, so she had no problems while filming Nodame. She's got such offbeat charm, it's no wonder the character fitted her like a glove. Totally agree that outfit is very Nodame, and Juri looks lovely in it.
Not related to Nodame's topic, I wonder koala has watched Jurippe's latest drama "Alice no Toge", she's totally a different person (from Nodame) in that drama, seriously a superb actress!
Absolutely love how versatile Ueno Juri is. I watched Nodame Cantabile in between episodes of Last Friends and it totally blew my mind.
I'd describe Ueno Juri's dress as avant-garde or artsy, but not at all something that a slobby girl (without taste for dressing) would wear.
Nodame daisuki!!! So please tell them not to ruin my memories of it. Tamaki & Ueno san were both breathtakingly good and had natural chemistry.
