Normally this isn’t really a post-worthy bit of casting (or non-casting) news but for the fact that it involves Kim Soo Hyun. Like him or not, think he’s overrated or not, find him an underwhelming actor or not, he’s one of the biggest twenty-something actors in Korea right now so his every move remains scrutinized by fans and media alike. He’s also had a successive string of hits to a degree that invokes envy so it makes sense his next move has everyone’s eyes peeled since he either has the golden touch or he’s a spectacularly good project picker.
That next project is definitely not going to be Dr. Frankenstein, the umpteenth K-drama in 2015 with a male lead suffering from split/multiple personality disorder. The drama is basically a mashup of Blood and Hyde, Jekyll, and I, not that I’m alleging DF is cribbing from those two dramas since who knows which script(s) came along first. The titular doctor suffers from multiple personality disorder and is a cold withdrawn person until he meets a woman who opens his heart and gradually changes his life. Kim Soo Hyun apparently turned down the drama last month but news only came out this week.
Dr. Frankenstein is written by the screenwriter behind Sungkyunkwan Scandal and will be produced by the production company that did Records of a Night Watchman. Now I’m wondering if it’ll be sageuk since the news articles never mentioned whether it was a modern day drama or set in some fictional time. The doctor in question could be a sageuk physician for all we know. I only say this since the team behind DF is best known for doing sageuk material.
Either way DF remains on the production track and still looking for a male lead along with the rest of the cast. Kim Soo Hyun’s agency Keyeast has announced that after turning down DF, Kim Soo Hyun is seriously considering another project for 2015 that has been offered to him. Word on the street is that it’s big-budget and his costar is a screen goddess level A-lister. Who knows but stop teasing and just tell us!

YEH doesn't need an A-lister costar to be back on top. She just need a good project with a good plot, good crews (PD & scriptwriter) & good costar (not necessarily an A-list actor)

If they are talking about DES,then it's more likely Son Ye Jin or Ha Ji Won..Son Ye Jin agency is affiliated with the producer of this drama,there were rumors that they might casts someone from MS Team(SYJ or MCW),there were posts in DC that they were courting MCW and SJS but since this is big budget drama they might go for more experienced and veteran actress so SYJ being cast has a bigger chance and Ha Ji Won having played with KES drama before they might consider her again and of course being an Alister and a good actress..

I think it could be Kim Take Hee since I think son ye jin is already affiliated with that movie and I don't think Song Hye Kyo would do a KES drama... I think Dr Frankenstein should wait for Song Joong Ki or Kim jae wook's release

Yes, she is an A-lister actress, having been an original Hallyu star and making cofee Prince very popular, also that makes coffee in Korea popular. She has some good rating tv project and you cannot deny, she is a trend setter, too and one of the top paid Korean actress in her generation.

Yoon eun hye is not a-list goddess,imho. Also gong hyo jin is not considered goddess. But who knows casting these days tend to be wtf. So anything is possible.
