TW-superstar idol queen Jolin Tsai totally declared at the 2015 MAMA in Hong Kong that she still PWNS the Cpop music scene even after fifteen years and countless challengers. I’m thrilled for her, having come to appreciate her craft more recently rather than her early years trying to make her mark on idol-dom. After MAMA two weeks ago, she’s remained in Hong Kong for her leg of the Play Tour there, and was spotted out and about with her rumored boyfriend of six years Vivian Dawson.
An actor-model of mixed ethnicity, his father is a New Zealander and mother is a Chinese from Singapore, Vivian’s biggest breaks have come from being linked to Jolin, and being the replacement hapa in Tiny Times 3 to replace Rhydian Vaughn who left to do another movie, though the TW-media remains highly distrustful of him with the local golden girl ever since he’s been caught out with models and reportedly has a Tinder profile. Vivian was actually a name for boys that later turned into one for girls. Actually, quite a number of girl names have previously been used as names for boys - examples include Ashley, Kelly, Maria/Marie (used as a second name), Evelyn, Jocelyn (masculine in France), Robin, etc. Not to mention a host of actresses/singers have first names that used to be classically male: Drew Barrymore, Reese Witherspoon, Hayden Panettiere, Parker Posey, Taylor Swift, Cameron Diaz etc.
I'm not sure if Vivian is Jolin's "on-off again" boyfriend. I'm pretty sure she hasn't confirmed a breakup ever with him. (Correct me if I'm wrong.)

Everytime you mention C-Pop, I immediately think Canto-pop and get confused when you reference the Taiwanese or Mainland singers since they are known to me as Mando-pop. Lol. I used to like Jolin Tsai when she first came out, after she grew out of the innocent phase, I had to stop listening to her since I have a small kid that is very impressionable.

I recently bought her album Play and loved her performance at MAMA. The audience reaction was hilarious. It's like she had never seen tall, buff men dance in stilettos, make up and sheer mesh body suits.
