Gong Yoo Looking Mighty Fine in Summer 2016 Pictorials and Conquers Box Office with Train to Busan

It’s a great time to be K-actor Gong Yoo, as well as a great time to be his fan. The second half of 2016 is shaping up to his breakthrough year after he hit his first career daebak 9 years ago in 2007 with Coffee Prince. He doesn’t just have the number 1 movie in South Korea with zombies on a train thriller Train to Busan, it’s also breaking the early box office pace records set by all time South Korean box office winner The Admiral: Roaring Currents. Up next is the September release of period thriller movie The Age of Shadows (Miljung) with Song Kang Ho and Han Ji Min by director Kim Jee Won (The Good, the Bad, the Ugly, A Bittersweet Life, Tale of Two Sisters). And lastly he ends the year with a long awaited drama land return in tvN‘s fantasy drama Goblin written by hit making screenwriter Kim Eun Sook, who herself may have two major hits in one year on her hand after delivering on Descendants of the Sun earlier this year. I so can’t wait!
