Filming is underway for MBC‘s 2017 stranded on an island drama Missing Nine. This one went though convoluted production and title changes (Gaia, Picnic) before finally crossing the starting line, and I for one hope it turns out for the best. Starring Jung Kyung Ho as a formerly popular idol star turned entertainment reporter, his leading lady Baek Jin Hee plays his stylist and the two go from professional to personal once they end up on a deserted island. With mermaids and immortal goblins on the small screens a deserted island drama doesn’t seen sound like a stretch. What’s more worrying is the supporting idols cast including Chanyeol, Ryu Won, Cao Lu but that’s hopefully balanced out with the talented actors also cast like Oh Jung Se, Choi Tae Joon, and Lee Sun Bin. Missing 9 takes over the MBC Wed-Thurs time slot from Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo.
The script is by screenwriter Han Jung Hoon of 38 Task Force, Bad Guys, and the Vampire Prosecutor series and the PD did Angry Mom, Hotel King, and East of Eden.

You just know that some dramas will flop - this smells like one of them.
Lots of dramas that smell like success failed this year so don't be so quick to judge.
only like two did, the rest all succeeded
MBC is like addicted to making bad decisions
I am curious, what bad decisions did the make this year other than letting 1% of something slip now that it has become a legitimate hit with great domestically and international Reception?? And what is so disastrous about Jang Kyung Ho drama. He is alone enough to carry this show. Not as popular as the rest of the Hallayu Gods but a wonderful actor on his own right. Also koala, no post about 1%, it did turn out to be a surprise hit contrary to popular opinions expressed here about two nobody's being cast in a drama.
I lik Jung Kyung Ho so I'll check on it and I hop it turn out to be a good drama!! :)
Jung Kyung Ho, why??
The screenwriter is good so it gives me hope. Maybe that's why he signed up for it. I also hope it ends up being not just decent but good.
