I think it was a near impossibility to keep the dating relationship of Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo truly under wraps. The two did a great job and the mainstream media helped by not covering the rumors and fan sightings for over a year until it really got more overt and serious. As such the Song-Song couple got to control their narrative to a strong degree and that means announcing their impending marriage directly rather than confirming they were dating when news of their Bali trip became impossible to tamp down. What has been a collateral affect is that news coverage of Song Joong Ki’s upcoming movie Battleship Island with So Ji Sub and Hwang Jung Min has been overtaken by interest in his marriage plans.
Song Joong Ki sat down for solo interviews this week and explained that he wanted to be the one to announce it and had planned to do it after the movie premiered, but due to circumstances beyond his control the couple was forced to reveal the news earlier and he apologizes for distracting from the movie promotions. I totally believe him and think everything will be fine, from all accounts this has added interest and publicity to Battleship Island, and ultimately the movie stands on its own and the Songs will have to manage their own marriage for the long run, and fans are just bystanders.

Their marriage announcement did give publicity to movie in other countries where there strong hallyu wave. Anyway big congratulations to song song couple. They made million of people happy with their wedding news.
i read his interview and like what i read. but he is being accused he is unprofesional for talking about Song Hye Kyo in his movie premier. well.... can't blame the guy. he has find happiness and want to share to the world aglimpse of his happiness
He's not being accused of that by anyone who matters. There are always going to be some bitter people out there. And most of these interviews are pages long with one paragraph about his soon to be wife, and of course on international sites and elsewhere that is what is going to get attention. Though he obviously has no problem mentioning her and showing how much he loves her, which is actually nice to see. You can tell he was holding back a lot this whole time.
Don't see why fans (and the Songs themselves) can't celebrate both the success of his movie and the happiness of their marriage. We are glad for both!
