This is such a shocking news and honestly so worrying in these times. Character K-actor Moon Ji Yoon, who I recognize on sight if not by name, has passed away at the age of 36. His agency released the information explaining that he passed from acute sepsis brought on after complaining of a sore throat. Clearly it was an infection that spread and there is no news on what the source of the infection was, though news reports are stating that his funeral services may be adjusted in light of possible COVID-19 connection. Moon Ji Yoon was in recent years best known for playing the gruff sorta-antagonist in Cheese in the Trap, and he’s had plenty of supporting roles in dramas Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo, Awl, May Queen, Big, and many more. His early recognition was from the drama Sassy Girl Choon Hyang which was one of my first K-dramas. Rest in peace and my condolences to his family and friends.

Omg, he played Jae Hee's best friend in Delightful Girl Choon Hyang. I loved him in that role and always wondered what happened to him after (haven't really kept up with dramas for a long while).
2020 is really shaping up to be a horrible year. Rest in peace, Moon Ji Yoon. You will be missed.
Condolences to his family. I like him as one of the weightlifters in Kim Bok Joo. So sad to see a young person pass on. Tragic.

This is so tragic!
Despite playing side characters usually in a much larger cast and some with very little back story compared to some, his roles and acting was always memorable. I also admire and appreciate actors like him who are not afraid to pick up gray characters who may be frustrating or annoying, but incorporating a human side to them. He will be missed. Rest in peace.
Oh no! :( Covid-19 can cause sepsis which is a life-threatening condition that arises when the body's response to infection injures its own tissues and organs. Some people may develop kindey failure or shock rather than only respiratory failure. That's why it's so dangerous. Can't wait to get through this!
