Illustrator Jamsan Provides All Stop Motion and Fairy Tale Book Drawings for It’s Okay to Not be Okay Reuniting with Same PD of Encounter

There is so much back and forth these days whether one likes or doesn’t like a drama. It’s rather exhausting and I miss the days of more constructive and fun commentary. Artistic output is subjective and on that subjective note I love the illustrations and animation in currently airing tvN drama It’s Okay to Not be Okay. The artist is Jamsan who also did the opening credits illustrations in Encounter (Boyfriend), which the same PD of this drama directed. Jamsan is already known in the advertising world for doing copy artwork for brands and what he does isn’t just make something pretty or visually pop, he adds a really notable emotional swatch over the renderings so it elicits a reaction. Well done and I’m glad after Encounter I can encounter his works again in a drama, and even better is all his fairy tale books from the drama will be available for purchase in South Korea.

    • It's not. Just because the style is similar doesn't mean its plagiarism. U should understand Intellectual Property Rights first before accusing something being plagiarised. I understand this well as I have a Intellectual Property Law background.

    • What do you call Tim Burton then who used similar scenes from German movies of the 1920's, Metropolis and Nosferatu, for his Edward Scissorhands? Check the the video "Tim Burton A German Expressionism Influence".

Is Tim Burton a plagiarist too?

  • Love this - and specially Zombie Kid was just fantastic. It’s grotesque, possibly, but it has such a great message and really brings in the emotions of a child who wanted warmth.

I’d buy it if it were available in NA. I’m usually a big fan of books being incorporated in dramas, whether that be an original or used. My fav is Edward Tulane being used in YFAS - that was brilliant too.

    • I want these available in NA too. Please ship to NA. They would sit nicely in my book collection next to Brothers Grimm, Hans Christian Andersen, and Roald Dahl.

  • Oh interesting, which brands has he done artwork for? I'm liking his work (well, some are dark for me, but still cute, lol)
