Can you guys believe it’s been 7 years, and 8 years next year in 2021, since Answer Me 1994 rocketed Jung Woo to superstardom with international drama fans. He was already doing plenty of movies in Korea before then but few dramas, and whether he’s just got the best agent or serendipity made him pick AM94 it ended up being a pivotal once-in-a-lifetime role as Trash Oppa. That’s why it’s so weird he hasn’t done a drama since other than a quick cameo in Answer Me 1988, but next year he’ll be making his drama return in the Kakao TV 12-episode series The Crazy Guy in the District. From being the messiest guy in the neighborhood to the guy who suddenly develops temper issues and gets involved with equally crazy weirdo Oh Yeon Seo, the drama sounds like it will ratchet up the OTT but hopefully the two will make their characters endearing rather than screechy.
