The first official drama poster is out for SBS zombie sageuk Joseon Exorcist and it’s gorgeous and creative enough to shine on its own. The production took a historical landscape painting style and created a poster showing the Joseon Palace and the denizens of the court. Instead of going about their daily lives they are instead battling zombies and maybe fires in areas or blood spatter lol. We see dead bodies littered here and there and groups of folks banded together to fight back while a group of soldiers guard the entrance to the main palace while it appears an exorcism is happening in the courtyard where two bodies are laying in what could be a ritual symbol with a five point star. I wasn’t excepting this cool poster approach since the drama stills and previews have been heavy the drama with swords, fighting, and blood and more blood. I’m also happy to see new stills featuring Park Sung Hoon as the drama antagonist.

This is NOT a zombie drama. Deals with demon possession and art of exorcism that will fuse eastern and western spiritual beliefs. I am super excited to see how they plan to weave it all together and if they plan to introduce how christianity came into korea through the saga. Already seen scenes of a caucasian priest assisting them. Definitely ground breaking in conceptualisation. I hope it lives up to its hype. My only grouse. Argh ... why is it such a late slot. Scary material to take to sleep.
