So things are not exactly off to a glowing start for high profile K-movie Alienoid (Alien+Human Part 1), which held a media premiere last week on July 13th and got back mixed reviews. There were a lot of critics grumbling that the movie has too many characters and is rather disjointed, but the good reviews are that the movie is innovative and ambitious. Female lead Kim Tae Ri specifically responded to the bad reviews saying that the movie is a two part project and Part 1 is the needed exposition and characters set up so be patient as Part 2 will tie it together and be more action-oriented. This week on July 18th was the VIP premiere ahead of the movie’s release this weekend and so many top stars came out in support as befitting this sprawling A-list cast also including So Ji Sub, Kim Woo Bin, Ryu Jung Yeol, Yum Jung Ah, Jo Woo Jin, Kim Eui Sung, and Yoo Jae Myung. I swear Kim Soo Hyun‘s smile is infectious and besties Jung Woo Sung and Lee Jung Jae totally did a couple’s walk in attendance lol.

Song Seung Heon is good looking, fresh and dressed nice. Everyone else is meh. Korean celeb fashion has gone down the drain big time. They can no longer catch to their chinese counterparts.
Kim Soo Hyun looks good except for his hair lol.
What's up with male k-celeb hairstyles?!
Wow so many supports from the K-Ent industry. This is what we miss most when the pandemic hit us, the way the actors/actresses support their co-artists. They couldn't attend during the pandemic. This is good. This is making the whole industry active again.
For the movie I am not a fan of Sci-Fi genre but I am a fan of most actors /actresses in the movie so I'm hoping it will be a HIT!
Unfortunately it's getting mixed reviews. Sad because this was the movie I was looking forward to the most this year..
Mixed reviews immediately? One of many proofs that mediaplay, popular stars and big budgeted projects are no easily guaranteed success...or even a good plot anymore.
the days when top stars can carry a project to success are finally gone. genre plays a big role too. like most of the box office hits this year were action movies regardless of the quality of writing or names involved.
The attendees looked like they wandered over from the mall next door.
I'm not discouraged by the mixed reviews and complaints. If the duology is ambitious as the director says it is, then it does take a while to lay out the worldbuilding and characters (especially for sci-fi/fantasy genre).
