Jang Ki Yong in Talks for Fantasy K-drama Though Not a Hero as First Project Post Military Discharge

I felt like K-actor Jang Ki Yong hasn’t been gone for military enlistment for that long but that’s due to him having a drama air months after he enlisted, namely Now, We are Breaking Up. That one was a raging snoozer but I did enjoy the one before My Roommate is a Gumiho. Maybe fantasy is his genre so this news is promising, he’s in talks for his first post military discharge drama titled Thought Not a Hero which tells of a supernatural family which has lost their superpowers due to human disease and illness. Directing is the PD of Sky Castle and Snowdrop with the writer of Marriage Not Dating.

    • Totally agree. His acting is terrible and for someone who was a model he has zero screen presence and charisma.

    • I would say the same about his FL in Now we are breaking up !! LOL... To be honest, I quite enjoy his bad boy acting in My Ahjussi. Maybe he should take on more shady characters or an antagonist role.

  • I like him playing an antagonist... or anti hero. But he didnt choose his projects well. Especially when he was the protagonist ML.

But wondering, he got many projects under his belt, i mean, there are many actors in YG that are more talented but he always got casted.

  • He is another one who can't pick the right projects. Reminds me of Wookie. He was so good in Come and Hug Me and he'll, even WWW was ok but yeah. This one is another did I think.

  • Oh my why is this man being dissed he is one of South Korea most talented actors and they have so many chin up and carry on

  • I don't think he's the material to be a main lead. He's not bad but often is overshadowed by the others actors. In Come and Hug Me, Kim Kyung-Nam was the one who shined the most.
