So the rejection can definitely be translated here and it’s a “nah, I’m good” from K-actor Son Seok Kyu to the drama writing duo of the Hong Sisters. He was offered the male lead in their upcoming romance drama Can This Love be Translated where he plays a talented multilingual translator who does work for a top movie actress and their contrasting view of love languages sparks a romance. The drama was slated for 10-episodes as a streaming series so I do like the succinct aspect as the Hong Sisters if given a long lease usually hang themselves on writing in a concentric circle of nonsensical hot mess. Alas it’s a no from Son Seok Kyu who just seemed like too high brow a fit for the Hong Sisters who now need to look for a new male lead.

Count me in. Cillian Murphy did act in one, but it was called an "anti-romance" movie with Lucy Liu -- Watching the Detectives. My favorite not-romance movie lol.
Oh yeah, forgot about that one lol. But I'd love to see him in a romcom again, esepcially as he got even better with age 😋

A romcom drama is great for those starting out in leading man roles. Son Seokku just had a breakout year last year in both movies and drama, and this isn't the kind of project that could get his name further into the A-list ranks.
Even Kim Eun Sook cant get him. He was her first choice for Mr. Sunshine I think and he also passed on it. V picky actor. Maybe they can go for Seo Kang Joon. Hes available now.
