When young people tend to take things for granted but living through changing tides allows appreciation in the moment. Rom-coms used to be a dime-a-dozen in K-drama land and honestly most were meh and only some exceptional but even the meh ones were worth watching as time wasters. Then the great rom-com demise of the 2010s happened where a decade of falling terrestrial ratings hit this genre the hardest. So I am thoroughly pleased with the raging success of jTBC rom-com King the Land even if it’s the least engaging/compelling of the three high profile weekend dramas for me. I’m just so happy to see Junho playing the classic chaebol learning to love and Yoona as the Candiest of all Candys that it doesn’t matter the plot is thinner than a semiconductor wafer the success of this drama just means productions will be more willing to produce rom-coms in the future and yay to that. Also, these two are just too cute for words onscreen, this whole drama rests on their onscreen star appeal.
This year 2024 has been a slow year for K-actress Suzy in terms of her…
There are weird casting choices and this one is weird from both the leads itself…
Well this is an interesting pairing, setting aside the age difference at least I can…
I swear I just wrote about Song Joong Ki having his first baby and then…
At the end of the day, the core of any good drama remains the Story,…
If I didn't know this drama was a romance set in space and done K-drama…

Just bask in the cheese fountain (and go see "Past Lives").
This drama is a breath of fresh air amidst all the dark, revenge-driven, & fantasy dramas lately. Not feeling an ounce of guilt laughing at all the cheesy, silly scenes. Here's hoping there's a dream sequence of Yoona & Junho singing & dancing together ...
Thanks mrs koala, finally somebody who remembers the era when Candy characters were thriving.
I like Yoona so much as a person. I am one of the OG SNSD fans. However... I'm really not enjoying her acting. I wish I did. But I can't get invested in dramas she's the lead.
Actually out of all SNSD actresses, I prefer Seohyun the most, although I never would have pegged her as an actress back in SNSD days
Cliche, but the couple is cute, Junho charisma is a big part of the success . I don't think that the drama would get such ratings with another couple . The recent failures of some romances show that casting chemistry is important. Here the chemistry is not an explosive one but charming . Legendar couples for me , Yoon Eun Hye with Joo ji Hoon, Gong Yoo, Kang Ji Hwan, , Kim Sun Ah and Cha Seung Won ( caliente !!!),Hyun Bin and Ha ji Won, Seo in Guk and Jung Eun Ji,Ji chang wook and Nam Ji Eun, Han Groo and Yun Woo Jin,Kim Se Jung and Ahn hyo Seop,Sul in Ah and kang Min Gyu,Park Bo Young and Park Hyun Sik....
This drama is getting better and better just because the storyline is so so cheesy but it works to crack me up. I have some very good laughs watching the two leads bickering then missing each other after arguing. Very funny.
The chemistry was sizzling in those couples. Add to that : PakMinYoung and Pak Seo Joon
PakMinYoung and Ji Chang Wook
Lee Joon and Jung Seo Min
SonYeJin and JungHaeIn
Super cliche and shallow plot so far, but, it's an easy, fun watch. These leads are so lucky they have great chemistry, otherwise, not sure if it will be a hit. :) The other dramas currently airing have more substance to be honest. Still, I 'll continue to this lol

Chaebol roles are the reason Lee Min Ho became a Hallyu star. Remember when male leads made their career breakthrough by playing cheesy Chaebol heirs falling for the candy female lead. Hyun Bin, Ju Ji Hoon, Lee Dong Wook and more. Those were the best days and the only reason I started watching Kdrama. Now only Cdrama does those silly cheesy romcom plots. Please just bring back the old fashioned romcoms because there is a huge appetite for it and its a plot point that will never get old. Post COVID everyone needs comfort dramas and not cinematic high quality storytelling.
