So the first love gets a second chance concept has been done umpteenth times in K-dramas and most recently had a really nuanced take with Our Beloved Summer. Another one is in the works with the quirky title I am Against My Love and is getting buzz for being the project helmed by the PD of Descendants of the Sun, who also directed Goblin, Mr. Sunshine, Sweet Home, and more. The two leads in discussion are Go Min Si and Choi Hyun Wook, the former has broken out already thanks to Sweet Home and Youth of May while the matter came out of nowhere in 2021 with his debut then racked up accolades in Racket Boys, Twenty Five, Twenty One, and most recently Weak Hero Class 1 and could breakout into the mainstream with just premiered Twinkling Watermelon. I am loving this likely pairing and this drama about first loves reuniting in adult age in a second reluctant but fated chance.
There are weird casting choices and this one is weird from both the leads itself…

Oh I love this pairing! That's a significant age difference, but Go min si has a baby face, so I don't think they'll be visible mismatched
Choi Hyun Wook is rising at a meteoric pace despite his super young age and while I love them individually this pair isn't working for me. The age gap is similar to him and Bona but the visual and auras for them doesn't match. Him and Bona on the other hand were amazing. Go Min Si suits more mature actors and Choi Hyun Wook needs someone more girl next door to match his crazy energy. Also Lee Eun Bok is a bit overrated because Jirisan was terrible but he did well with the historical bits of Goblin so it would have been better if he did more of that instead of a modern day romcom.
