G-Dragon Reportedly Booked and Under Investigation for Drug Use Stemming from the Lee Seon Kyun Scandal

Whenever there is a big scandal in K-ent, and seemingly same in C-ent, I notice there are extensions or sidebars to said matter. This week was all about top movie and drama actor Lee Seon Kyun‘s drug use scandal, which includes frequenting a hostess club and hanging out with a madam at her home, has now formally added another star. In the most un-surprised Pikachu face I can make, idol and rapper G-Dragon is under investigation for illegal drug use as part of the group of folks being investigated with Lee Seon Kyun. He’s not detained at the moment. G-Dragon back in 2011 was investigated and fined for marijuana use but he claimed that it was from inhaling the pot smoke from others at a party and he never did pot himself. M’kay. YG Entertainment has released a statement that G-Dragon is no longer an artist in the agency so no comment on this matter.

  • G Dragon have been investigated for a while now... I am just interested to why media have chosen this week to reveal this news.

    • Haha, you know why... a certain company would rather have him locked up than watch him be creative on his own...
It's his fault for abusing drugs though. I wonder if there's a celebrity ring in S.K or if they import the drugs. Either way, what an embarrassment for the conservative Korean image.

      • Oh, that is true... But it is his fault to abuse drugs. To be honest, drugs is commonly used in this industry especially music circles...it is just who upset who and who to reveal. In Europe, it is so common that police dont even bother catching users.

Best to stay clean or never get caught.

  • Why am I not completely shocked? 😆 anyway, yes drugs are not good, but hey if you do, take responsibility in your country’s laws. I still don’t hate you and can’t judge you based on your drug use.

  • There should be a drug ring in the K-ent. The net should be raided rather than just catching a few fish. Another Bigbang member got doped? I'm not shocked. Their artistic style somehow gave me an inkling this would happen.

    • So must drugs goes on...the ones that are caught and names are just named deliberately. I wonder who is next? SK does these "Big Clean" ever few years...must be Politics again.

  • Interesting ... he's suddenly being blasted from all sides conveniently after he chooses not to renew with YG. He shouldn't have been on drugs, but also, these KPOP Companies are alot more petty than you would think. I don't doubt that they removed their veil of protection from him, protecting his image/covering up past drug use. These revenge porn type trends are easy 5o spot for someone watching industries for so long, be it my home country, the West, or in East Asia.

That airport video of him twitching and erratic was hard to watch. I hope amidst the punishment they also give him the help he needs.

    • I bet if YG had good evidence on LIsa from Blackpink would be revealed if YG had records of any deeds that will make her look bad. But she lives a clean life... so they only revealed who she dates and her Crazy Horse event. All did not even affect her popularity. Very Dirty company!!!

G-Dragon's case really show just how much power YG has with media/police/politicians... They can make and break their own sign ups as and when they want if they have records of any law breaking deeds done.

  • He didn't claim it was from inhaling pot smoke from others at a party, he claimed that someone at a party offered him a blunt, he took it thinking it's a normal cig.

Unlike C-ent though, K-ent's big scandals may be for political cover-ups. So here I am, wondering whether this scandal is to cover up some new political issues.

      • Give some examples then. I don't know about J-ent as I'm not into it, but I haven't seen any big C-ent scandals being released at the same time or within a few days of some political issues in the recent years. FYI 227 is definitely not orchestrated by CCP, the lunatic below just can't accept the fact that his beloved anti-China friends are the bad guys in this incident.

    • @Lilith, no need to give you evidence. You believe as you do, I know as I do. I don't have intention to change your mind. Just want to voice my opinion.

      • It is just pointless talking to a wall... I am happy to be the Other person when it comes to any conversations with yourself, it will just be a war of words. So tiresome. You can be who you are and believe as you do. That is your Freedom.

      • And it's pointless too to contradict someone else's words when you don't support your contradictions with illustrations.

  • LOL. The CCP has been using a lot of C-ent scandals to cover up political turmoil inside the ruling rank or diplomatic fiascos. There were quite a few C-ent "scandals" during the time of pandemic outburst originated from Wuhan to spread around the world.

    • Which scandals? Most of the big scandals I recalled like WYF, ZS, ZW and ZZH were during 2021. The pandemic outburst was in early 2020.

      • 227 to divert public attention from Wuhan outburst. As to 2021, China started to have huge rifts with the West since everyone knew whom to blame for the pandemic by then. The unknowingly-undressed emperor XJP went through power struggles and purged opposing voices within the party and there were scandals in his close allies too. I'm not gonna get in the muddy political swamp since this blog is all about entertainment. But since you made that comment about K-ent vs C-ent, I feel like correcting you. For corrupt regime, it's all the same regarding manipulating public attention. Among all, the CCP is the worst. LOL

      • I've already told you before, 227 is organised by anti-China syndicates. And there's plenty of evidence to show that the 227 leaders are anti-China:

        1) Those leader antis are pro-Japanese.
        2) The charity project organised by Chinese authorities to help farmers who almost became bankrupt due to COVID-19 affecting their supply chain got targeted by those same leader antis. Those leader antis tried to brainwash people with some weird logic that buying those farmers' crops is actually harming them.

But of course, you chose to ignore these facts and continued with your propaganda because you are brainwashed by hatred.

      • There's so many evidences pointing to anti-China syndicates. Slogans and posters were made using Traditional Chinese, very much reminiscent of the HK protests. 227 leader antis tried their best to stir up social unrest by pitting groups of people against each other, encouraging students to bully their classmates and even teachers if they are fans or stood up for a certain someone. Do you think a government would want to divert public attention by causing social unrest?

      • @eJc You are a joke. Independent thinkers base things on facts and evidence, which is what I'm doing. Your good friend here can't even provide supporting evidence to defend his claims, he said there were "quite a few" C-ent scandals during pandemic, yet other than the 227 which I've debunked with solid evidence, he couldn't even tell me the rest of the "quite a few" LOL. Why don't you help him?

      • @Lilith, you're obviously out of touch with international news ! Where are your sources of the information? Gossipy Chinese SNS and Chinese state media? LOL.. Those are either not to be taken seriously or always go with the CCP narratives. They wouldn't and will never tell you the truth. There have been numerous reports of political chaos inside the CCP ranking members and the huge diplomatic fallout from the fiasco mishandled by XJP's crappy foreign policies. Those unfortunate political events to China and Chinese people happened to occur at around the same time when there's fuss about some big name in the C-ent, WYF, LYF, and ZZH included.

Since you're the one bringing up the topic, I can't just let you spread false information. I'd rather stay away from politics as much as possible due to phobia of other drama fans although I think C-ent can never get away from Chinese politics. LOL

      • @Lilith, you've not debunked anything. You've just been parroting CCP propaganda based upon spurious information of which credibility has no way to verify. You're constantly reminding me of brainwashed or colluded CCP lackeys because of interest connected to the regime. People can tell the signs you're advertising for the CCP. It's telling from EACH comment you have made related to the CCP. Again, I have no much interest getting into the dirty politics of CCP regime on this site because the debates can go on and on. But you should know that while being a citizen of a democratic country (that I assume you are unless you're Singaporean under an autocratic system too), what has already been debunked is the fact that the CCP are collectively a LIAR, unless you don't read information from free press. LOL

      • @Lilith, I'll constantly urge you to go back to China and you'll definitely feel more welcome there with your thinking in line with CCP narratives. Stop abusing free speech right only available outside China. You're not gonna win ppl's hearts to side with your spurious theories all the time. Ppl aren't so stupid to be brainwashed. Just give up! LOL

    • @Somebody 227 happened directly on Weibo and other Chinese SNS. They were the "crime scene" of the incident. If I didn't get my information on this incident from there, then where else should I have gotten my info? Second-hand or third-hand from international media like you did?

Lol previously you mentioned about "quite a few" C-ent scandals happened during pandemic outburst, but up till now you only gave one big incident during 2020 which was orchestrated by anti-China syndicates. Now you switched to other scandals that happened in 2021 and beyond because you couldn't counter my evidences for 2020.

So now on to your claims about WYF, LYF and ZZH scandals. The common thing about these scandals is that they are by-products, not cover-ups. Their backers fell from grace first and everyone was already aware. And because these celebrities no longer have anyone to back them up, their rivals moved in to take them down.

Your logic for this C-ent scandals covering up for Chinese political issues is very flawed. Korea advocates democracy and freedom of speech so their government has to resort to using other distractions to turn public attention away. China, on the other hand, is authoritarian. China simply ban anyone from discussing about unfavourable political issues on Chinese SNS and forums, I've seen it for myself. They do not need to use C-ent scandals as a distraction at all.

And you're the one who dragged politics into entertainment first on this blog and kept bringing up CCP like a dumped ex.

      • @Lilith, you're an obvious CCP stooge advocating for autocracy that you always hinted superior to democracy. Go close ranks with your Chinese fellows on C SNS where everyone conforms to uniform voice in line with CCP narratives. Don't spread CCP lies and communist fallacy outside China!

I read news throughout the pandemic period until 2022 regarding emperor Xi's political purge inside CCP and all the conflicts China has ignited with the West and Japan, Countries around the South China Sea such as Philippines and Vietnam etc. China government is currently backing Russia's invasion and also provides weapons to terrorist groups in the Middle East including Hamas. China is in great disputes with a lot of countries in the West, SE Asia, and East Asia. Xi has been creating turmoil inside and outside China throughout the whole years since 2020 including pandemic lockdown to bring China economy into dismay that's not gonna recover easily and infamous flood in Zhengzhou, just naming a few. I don't even have to bog down to a long list of mishaps China and Chinese citizens have gone through including real estate debacles and local government debts, banking system meltdown that has caused cash flow access issues to bank account holders, human right issues such as iron chained woman, girls beaten in restaurants, which are just so notorious than a lot more to spread to international communities so that everyone knows what egregious stories have been happening to common folks inside China. The list would go on and on and on if I have to list them all. Only fools or CCP associates would deny the facts I just mentioned. LOL

It's been well known that CCP always exposed or even made up "scandals" of popular celebrities to divert attention from the public since those paranoid delulus aren't gonna feel secure enough without all extreme measures out to find scapegoats and calm negative voices against them. Banning different opinions on SNS as you suggested isn't enough for them to feel secure!

There should be someone knocking sense into your airhead. If you want to stay in a free world abusing your right of free speech, just respect the values promoted in this free society. Stop being a mouthpiece for CCP to persistently sabotage the values of the free world by insinuating democracy is inferior to autocracy. Otherwise, why don't you just move back there given your connection with the CCP? Then I might not look down upon you so much. LOL

      • @Somebody You know why I look down on you so much? Because you give a bad name to democracy by making democracy advocates look like a bunch of crazy fools with your constant ranting of CCP and China politics on an entertainment blog. You talk so much about freedom of speech yet you don't allow other people to disagree with you, hypocrite much? In actuality, you behave so much like CCP.

It's a fact that C-ent scandals are rarely cover-ups for Chinese politics. Despite all the political conflicts you've mentioned, you couldn't link their dates to the big C-ent scandals in that period. All of the internal issues which you've mentioned such as floods, banking issue, that chained woman and that restaurant incident, they were covered extensively on Weibo. Can you name which C-ent scandals got exposed during those internal issues? Don't tell me they happened in the same year, there's 365 days in a year.

      • @LiLIAR, See! You will never change and are too old to change! You're still insisting CCP had never exploited showbiz to cover up its own scandals. Don't deny you're indeed a shameless mouthpiece for CCP trying to clean up their names all the time. LOL.

There have been myriads of mishaps occurred to Chinese citizens throughout each year since Xi took power and numerous celebrities' so-called scandals at the same time. I don't have to link each one particularly to another because the list can't be exhaustive. LOL. The most prominent one is 227 to divert attention to CCP's fiasco to spread virus from Wuhan around the world and Xi's failure at trade negotiation with the US, which has resulted in the downfall of China economy. How's entertainment not relevant to politics in China? Ignoramus! Chinese SNS like Weibo only reports false information to mislead people and only Chinese people have no option but being gullible. You didn't answer me the question if your only sources of information come from Weibo and WeChat as a large cohort of Chinese diaspora have been doing so. No wonder you always spread misinformation regarding China vs the west, entertainment included. As other visitors have noted you're so unhinged and you have a strong fetish to always defend CCP's autocracy and spread disinformation to discredit democracy, you're demoralizing international drama fans to dismiss western culture and values that actually offer us including you and other oversea CCP lackeys with abundant benefits, which ordinary Chinese folks cannot access. That's how hypocritic and barefaced you are!!!!! You and CCP are doomed to fail with underhandedly sneaky tactics exploiting showbiz and drama forums for propaganda!

What I disapprove of you the most is your tendency to oppress other drama fans who differ from you by labeling ppl antis and haters. You intended to cancel and silence ppl. That's why I strongly believe you're associated with CCP. LOL. No use for you to deny since you've got track records on this site. Almost everyone knows you don't fit in a democratic system. Just go back to China where you have no trouble blending in the woeful social media culture. You're entitled to free trash talk outside China. But I'll always call you out when you started being deranged by shitting the western culture and democracy again !

I don't mind writing long ass essays preaching you in your face since I've been trained to write executive reports regularly for my job. It's not a big deal for me to instantly drop a few paragraphs. But I'll make sure you're exposed whenever you ramble nonsense again suggesting C-ent under CCP autocratic regime is superior to K-ent and western showbiz.

      • @Somebody Grow up. Learn to read. The word I used was "rarely", not "never". See? You love putting words into other people's mouth like the CCP clone you are. I can't speak for scandals that happened more than 5-10 years ago since I know nuts about them as I wasn't into C-ent back then. But the scandals that happened in the recent few years aren't cover-ups for politics, and 227 is DEFINITELY orchestrated by anti-China syndicates. Your long essays count for nothing as they don't contain a single shred of evidence to support your ridiculous claims.

  • This isn't a surprise. This was a long time coming but now he doesn't have a powerful agency behind him to clean up his mess.

    • Maybe it's also a powerful agency's revenge policy? No more powerful backer to do cover up, spin packaging.

They let out news, hints about folks who have left their control, and are no longer their money-churning products.

  • He’s so messy, he’s probably going to jail this time, no more YG covering up his sh*t. VIP’s will try everything to deny the truth, like how their Seungri oppa is innocent.

  • Not even surprising . Entertainment industry may have a lot of celebrities using drugs,... it's just that Korea as a conservative society wanted to give a clean image so much that he may shock ifans who are now seeing that's the same that in their own country . In mine , celebrities even admit having used drugs, going through rehab and the police even don't bother to investigate , police has already too much in their plate ( terrorism, racism, women beaten to death by their husband or boyfriend ,school bullying which is since a few years becoming a national problem too , radical islamists,... So...
