• During the promotional livestream of LYST, she was crying and "begging" viewers to at least try to watch the drama for the sake of the crews and her co stars.

  I hope she takes lots of lots of acting lessons.

  • Where there is no talent no amount of acting lessons will help.
    If her life’s dream is acting, she should pursue it, but like in any other profession, by starting small and working her way up.
    It is really frustrating to see her ruining so many big production dramas and it is an insult to any decent actor who has to work with her.

    But that should tell you how seriously she takes all this. It's not her faul though, someone is giving her these roles even though everyone knows she is a talentless hack. That is the real problem.

    On Angelababy, I have seen a few takes that they prefer the movie version of Love O2O so not quite everything she has acted in is a dud.

  • I mean I don't know why you think he has a gun to his head but he really does not. He can say no to this as many others have said no to her before.

• Omgee! I can only laugh at them for picking her as the female lead. It's an insult. LYST failed because she as the female lead who was supposed to carry the show and had the most scenes lacked the presence and the acting ability.

• I would appreciate it if she figured out to start small and build a career, not get everything handed to her. Damn, poor LYN. Many thinks he’s not good looking enough (he is good looking enough!) and now he’s also stuck with the girl who can’t act. He deserves better.

• She's those that are good in stills but not in motion. She would be good in modelling, cfs, mvs or in variety shows. I dont see her passion fot acting. When she join Produce 101, what she said sounds more like a girl from rural areas in poor conditions trying to make a living. So i felt she would accept whatever her company gets for her.

• To be honest even when she did cameo for fomh, I can still see clearly how bad her acting is. It got worse on lyst with her having more screentime. Having read the two novel source and anticipating the adaptation, it felt like disaster. Ding yuxi was decent with his potrayal although the plot got butchered so it’s not that good either, but yang chaoyue acting just feels too fake. Even on the scene where she died in snow, I was looking forward to this scene when I read the novel, but her acting is really off. I can’t even cry. ☹️

• Why is she in all these costume dramas? Isn't it a bad idea to put her in money-making investments when she sux in them?

• Many people here were pretty convinced that LYN has no backer but the same does not go for YCY? Both are from poor backgrounds and is there any validity on this whole backer thing? Like is there any evidence that this is a common practice in c-ent? I feel YCY should do more support roles first but it's her agency pushing her maybe even without her will to keep doing main roles.

  • For ycy, she was supported by tencent, since she is one of the most famous graduate of tencent’s produce 101. But after her series of failure, the rumor is tencent gonna stop supporting her.

    As for backer thing it’s usually people who keeps getting main role even before they’re famous or getting resources beyond their ability, but it’s still hard to conclude whether any artist have backer.

    • It's not restricted to just main roles though, just that the ones who get main roles before they're famous/beyond their ability are those who receive higher level of support from their backer(s). Having backers is not a big deal as it's a type of connections, people only flare up when the artiste keeps getting main roles despite bad acting skills or he/she had committed immorality or crime to get those backings.

• Does she have fans from her work outside of dramas? She still has a ton of weibo followers. I know she was discovered on one of those idol competition shows. But now, is she popular in variety shows or cfs or doing fashion influencing? Someone must think she’s a good investment. There is always some monetary calculation when casting. Or maybe someone wants the production to fail?

  I don’t blame YCY. She’s just following what her management wants her to do. She comes from an impoverish background so strike while the iron is hot and make the money before the looks fade.

  I can tolerate a lot of poor acting but hers is on another level…
