So it’s usually a year to even two years for a big budget (S or A level) C-drama to air after wrapping filming. That includes time for post-production, submitting for second/final approval, and then finding the right slot. So for C-dramas that finished filming in late 2023 and now early 2024, I don’t expect to see it onscreen until 2025 at the earliest. But insiders are saying that iQiyi is eager to release the just wrapped filming xianxia C-drama Moonlight Mystique by the end of 2024, mind you this drama just wrapped last week. The team is reportedly working day and night on the post-production and the reason for the rush is that iQiyi thinks this one with a very strong Bai Lu character as the female lead will be a hit. Hhhhmmm, why do I feel the exact opposite lol. I don’t hope for this drama to do poorly but the first trailer was just awful so if iQiyi thinks it has a hit on its hands then good for the platform.

I feel the opposite too. This reminds me of Zhao Lusi's The Last Immortal, which Tencent rushed to get out within a year as well. And it was awful. Coincidentally, both dramas belong to the same series along with Xu Kai's Ancient Love Poetry.

They did the same thing to The Last Immortal and look what happened. Now that Netflix picked up TLI, they edited the CGI and it looks better on Netflix. It is so stupid of them to do this.
It's because it's Bailu. Whether it is a yah or nay, her dramas are usually up there on their ratings platform. They did recently announce her as the ambassador for Iqiyi international. This drama is a pass for me though.
Considering the amount of dramas Chinese produced per year and so many are still in the queue or has been shelved, there hasn't even been one big hit drama in the past year. Prehaps, they should consider producing good quality dramas.
Well if they stick to comedy and didn't try to turn it into a tragedy like every BaiLu drama it may be a hit, let be honest even if Bailu dramas get criticized and get bad rating they still get a lot of views and attention
I look forward to see if it's going to be bad as the trailer.
