The nearly two year long saga of actor Yoo Ah In‘s drug arrest to trial will soon come to a close. This week the Appeals Court held a hearing on his appeal of his lower court conviction for drug use and his sentence handed out of a little over a year. The prosecutors asked for the same requested sentence of four years as during his trial while his defense attorney requested probation and fine citing his remorse and also prior suffering from insomnia and depression which is alleged to have caused his descending drug use. The Appeals Court will render its verdict next year in February and if there is a sentence handed down he will then have to start serving. His downfall remains one of the biggest in K-ent from multiple award winning top actor of his generation to now likely never to return to entertainment.

He need help...not jail. But different Countries, different laws. Hope he will return and not be completely cancelled.
When all the legal stuff has been settled I hope he comes back to acting because I think he's great. It's not over until it's over.

What he truly needs is rehab. But anyway doubt he’ll get 4 years. In general the law is pretty lenient on celebrities. As for returning, maybe it’s possible but I doubt he’ll ever truly recover his career in any meaningful capacity. This case has dragged on for years, and he’ll need to reflect for even more if he’s not jailed. Starting from the bottom with such a big scandal isn’t an easy path. Whatever his sentence, I hope it comes with help from professionals to at least get his life back on track.
I notice some scandal plagued idols have managed to find careers outside Korea. I don't know how popular he is outside Korea to know if that makes sense.
