• This is just so gross to see. I remember dispatch once said they followed him for years since his debut and found nothing so they stopped. Now, it sounded like they had evidence of him dating all these years but they just didn’t expose it until now

  I think Prada is terminating their contract with him, Dinto is on hold and many more. He’s still moving forward with filming his drama and press con next month

      point of view but so many bad people still living just fine while their victims are suffering .

    • I was on the fence not judging KSH. But dang claim of his innocence is now a hard sell per all these new pieces of information (I still hesitate to say "evidence" cuz no legal procedures involved yet to corroborate the online reports).

      From my POV, KSR's underage while having a (perhaps sexual) relationship with a much older man is the first thing most unacceptable. The second thing I disapprove of is how her debt might have driven her to suicide and she tried to seek help with no mercy from her powerful ex at all? Many young people are still mentally vulnerable by their early 20s cuz their brains and characters are still developing, let alone she dated in her teens. I don't think teens can rationally judge and make best decisions for themselves all the time. There is a reason why they are called "minors" before turning legal age for adulthood. The challenges from DUI indictment, broken relationship, career fallout, and financial distress altogether might be too overwhelming for KSR to handle given her young age. So, she chose such a tragic exit from all the hardship. I feel so sorry for her.

      Goodness, this scandal is really blowing up. I dont like Kim Soo Hyun for afew years now..I think if started after that My Love from the Star, I got so uncomfortable watching him... then I completely stop watching his dramas. But I never realised he could be like these. I bet there are more like him but we just dont know.
      Takes a death to expose one... Such a young girl...

      @Somebody, I too find it hard to sit on fence with such mounting evidences. Apart from grooming & dating ...how he treated her after breaking up is just awful.

    • @HL,as i said before , he was an actor as many others for me. I only watched 2 dramas with him . Once again one can't judge a book by his cover but it seems that he didn't duped you ...so many celebrities came out being assh....Park Yoo Chun, Kang Ji Hwan, Park Si Hoo, ...at this point i don't know anymore ...I don't know how his agency is going to take care of it but i only picture the downfall of a big celebrity ... and the opportunity for another actor to take his place . I'm not cynical just pragmatic !

  I draw parallels to Indian film industry self unaliving of Divya Bharti in 1993who started making movies at 13 opposite grown men of 30. She married someone double her age and then self exited at just 19.
  Her story if full of exploitation from multiple people in the movie industry and her own parents were very greedy since she was making good money.
  Judie Garland and so many other child artist girls and similar stories,,,
  Either they self exited or their lives were cut short due to abuse, mental illnesses and trauma
  And behind it all, always always grown men.

    • There are so many males (and females) that are crazy and hungry for teens. We are not talking about the sick males (pedos) who molest the little ones, tho there are millions of those out there too. It’s been like that for hundreds, thousands of years. In every country. It’s in male’s nature. We need to explain it to children without scaring them. Usually, the parents and older relatives protect the vulnerable youngsters. It looks like in this case, poor girl had no one protecting her or teaching her good morals. Opposite, looks like all her family are vultures feeding of her.
      That’s why parents who care in the US try to take their kids’ education in their own care. Forget about actors, looks like most of the sexual predators try to get hired by schools, because that’s where their favorite pray is stuck with them in the same place for hours, days, years.

    • @Lin, I honestly gave a sigh of relieve when I learned I was gonna raise a baby boy not girl. Although underage boys are equally vulnerable in this predatory age and need guardians' protection, there are more worries about physical safety of girls because of their weaker physical strength. It's just gender difference from genes. As a parent, I have to constantly remind my boy of staying away from suspicious people and be wary of the environment around him when he's outside home.

    As much as i do admire Charlie Chaplin's movies, his love for underaged girls was questionable .
    Marylin Monroe said herself that actresses were sexual toys and she knew it , she played her Marylin Monroe's role knowing the game while drinking and taking pills because nobody wanted Norma Jean but only Marylin and we all know how it ended .
    In the 80's actors of teen movies also suffered abuse as Corey Haim, Corey Feldman ( Goonies, Stand By me...)
    Macauley Culkin, Edward Furlong,...
    Drew Barrymore who was alcoholic and druggie at a very young age managed to save herself
    And ...Britney Spears would her life be the same without her parents ?
    Only a few as Jodie Foster, Natalie Portman succeeded in managing all that , were they strong minded, smarter, have a good entourage ?

  • @sk2 Divya Bharti was groomed by her husband and cut ties with her family. It's not clear if her death was suicide or not. She had alcohol with drugs which could have numbed her senses. Actually she had gusets in her apartment at time of her fall. She was very lively and adventurous. Only sky God knows what happened to her.

• I am not defending KSH here, but am just curious why her family did not protect her. As a parent, if I am aware that an adult (no matter how famous) is interested in or is grooming my 15 yr old child, I would have done everything I can to prevent the relationship from even starting.. even resorting to reporting the incident to authorities. KSR was not only hurt by KSH, she was also severely let down by all the adults in her own family, who should have provided guidance and counsel to a 15 yr old girl, innocent to the ways of the world, in making the right decisions on relationships. And to read that she was their sole breadwinner, what the heck were they (the adults) doing? Don’t they have jobs? Can’t imagine the burden on her poor shoulders!

  • The family said they didn’t know about the relationship initially. It’s not rare for her to keep in contact with fellow actors and actresses. It’s when she kept receiving pictures and messages from him that they finally found out, at which point they did in fact disapprove of it. By then she was of age and he said he was serious about her and they even discussed marriage at some point.

    If he weren’t so callous or cold towards her over the debt, she wouldn’t feel so burdened to a point of no return, and all this truth about his disgusting nature would’ve never came to light. He really shot himself in the foot here.

    To think he’s always put on the front of being meek, shy, and dorky…smh

  • You are assuming, it's like a normal open relationship. Both KSH and KSR probably hid it at first. Between the two, there is great disparity in age, status and income. So KSH is being viewed negatively.
    And people defer so much respect if they view you so rich and powerful. Hence the groveling and bowing.
    And parents view you as property just because they birthed you. You see it on news like that Han So Hee, Go Hara....etc
    Also, self-exit is a form of sort to atone when you admit wrongdoing.
    This is what I learned over the years watching and observing Korean culture.

• Mounting evidence is too strong to be ignored nor denied. I feel sick in the bones at the pain Kim Sae Ron must have felt after the breakup, career downfall, betrayer and others. she was so lonely. I read even her neighbours have seen her crying alone on stairs etc... So heartbreaking.

  I hope those that cause hurt and harm towards this young girl will bear consequence. Grooming clearly happened. But was there sexual relationship when she was still underage...I dont know. I feel so sad for this hardworking girl who spend her life being used to make money and left with nothing before her death.

  I dont think there will be legal implications involved. But I doubt we will see Kim Soo hyun on screen anytime soon.

    • I wonder who will watch it? Makes me sick to even see his pictures knowing that he drove a girl to her death. When a little compassion would have gone a long way. I can't imagine that there will be people who know the truth still eager to watch this sordid man's work. People have been cancelled for way less than this.

      Two things I read that he did really make me sick to my bones - he deliberately released her phone number to the press to hound her. And he didn't even give her the option to work out a payment plan.

      And she protected his reputation to the end, while he had no problem painting her as a devil and removing every option she had to make a living. Quietly killing herself on his birthday instead of exposing their relationship to the world. In hind sight, I wish she had built on that picture she posted, and revealed the entire sordid truth to the world. I wish she hadn't made that final decision to self exit. I wish she had felt that someone powerful had her back and would support her.

    Today, the weather was so unpredictable that I felt like I was being tossed around in all directions this wonderful Saturday. What a great day for writing something and thinking about you, Saero-Nero.

    This morning, in the foggy haze, I wondered, ‘What kind of a day will it be today…?’ Caught up in that feeling, I went straight to the noraebang (karaoke) and tried some Shin Seung Hoon songs, butchered them, and got in trouble for doing him disgrace…

    Maybe an hour or so later, the sun started blazing—the same sun that messed with my skin. I thought, ‘This is a sign.’ So, I grabbed some oil and went up to the helipad. Tanned both sides. After an hour, I couldn’t handle it anymore because it got too hot. Then, I ate some lunch and am now watching some reruns of Heart Signal 2, cheering on for the contestants.

    It got dark outside again. Soon enough, the stormy clouds are letting go of everything they held onto, making all sorts of strange noises. I thought, ‘Wow. I’m so glad I’m not on a training mission today.’ About an hour later, the rain stopped unexpectedly. Perhaps the clouds went too hard, too fast. Or maybe it’s gearing up for round two. Anyway, the clouds stayed, but the weather cleared. The sun began gleaming in the clouds. The shadows of the clouds deepened, and through those shadows, rays of sunshine began bursting out. It was a sight worth seeing, but I didn’t have a camera with me.”

    Serenade

    Today is a wonderful Saturday, with weather that seems to bless our faces with bright smiles. Just thinking about it makes me happy, but it’s also a sad day. Even though it feels like it will be an ordinary day, today has become an extraordinary one.

    As I sang in the morning, I felt my heart become lighter. It was a moment of happiness, even though it was brief. The thought that this moment might be the last in this setting made me feel somewhat strange.

    It feels like a farewell, and that brings about an odd sense of loneliness. The recent days have been so busy, and that has made me reflect deeply. I was determined to stay strong and face the times ahead.

    Looking at the faces of those who came to see me, I was overwhelmed by emotions. There are so many people I still want to see, talk to, and share moments with. But time flows mercilessly, and it feels like it's slipping through my fingers.

    Even so, I hope to keep this memory as a precious one in my heart. Whenever I feel lonely, I will think of this moment and find comfort. There are many people I miss, and I long for the warmth of those memories.

    Although today may feel like a farewell, I believe we’ll meet again with bright smiles. That thought brings me comfort and strength.

    I’ll continue to do my best, always. Please look after me in the future as well.

• Not sure but I think statutory rape in Korea doesn’t apply to anyone over 13. They started dating when she was 15 so he would have avoided that I think. One of the comments online pointed out how he smartly avoided all the legal implications even if the relationship was exposed. He only loses his image at most but I don’t think he’ll have any legal repercussions.

  • I read that too. I don't think he will go to jail or face legal implications. But, his image is tarnished. Given how Koreans are lenient toward their actors after scandals, I think he will just lay low for a while and then come back but I doubt he will receive the same amount of love and admiration he once had.

    Besides his scandal with KSR, there are other various dcgall posts about his manager raped 6 women, how he and his cousin spread lies about Seo Ya Ji and how his agency wanted their artists to go out to drink.

• If he is able to manage to continue his career, I think he will lose his highest paid title going forward.

He must’ve wanted to emotionally manipulate her and stop her from making a comeback in fears of everything exploding. But how idiotic because if he just let her be, they’d have gone their separate ways. She clearly didn’t want to throw him under the bus even after she had all the opportunity to do it last year. Truly this whole situation is so disgusting and completely shocking.

  And to top it off, GM saying their position hasn’t changed is just icing on top. What in the fuck does that mean?! So they’re denying the pictures? The letters? All the damn evidence without actually saying anything to justify their side? I’ve been a KSH fan for *years* and that is most definitely his handwriting. Like come on. The photo Koala posted of them about to kiss is actually photoshopped (very well obviously) but GSY posted 2 pictures of him kissing her on the cheek that I have zero reason to believe isn’t real. And I 100% also blame Dispatch for sitting on this info for years without doing anything. And her family for knowing all this and doing absolutely nothing to report this bastard when they still could. All these people could have saved a young girl’s life.

  This whole thing is so crazy truly. From a financial standpoint, unless he’s been throwing away all his money in the past 20 years, he’ll be (unfortunately) fine and can probably retire and still live like a king. But I feel sorry for all the brands that will suffer, Knock Off’s cast and crew and most importantly; KSR.

  • And what you said about how he had everyone fooled. There was always rumours about him being weird but there was no evidence hence it had no merit. But there's older clips surfacing and what's evident is his obsession with preying on young girls prob saeron is not the only victim. I feel like he tried to get close to Nam jihyun and Kim yoojung but both fortunately were protected. Saeron really was the perfect victim, working her like a slave, and her distancing from yeri etc makes sense too. But yh on the image thing, it's so heavily crafted like once he got some fame, he stopped doing variety shows (since he's shown to slip up) and kept a more mysterious image which helped but chronically online people never forget. Even in 2020, syj scandal some rumours about him and saeron was there, but it sounded silly at the time. But her moving to new agency from the better one she was with with him and getting barely any good roles is telling. There's more to come but aside from the weird rumours, the crucial nature of all of this is something, always cartoonish villain like. Even him just living life to the fullest by partying same day she died.
