Dispatch Confirms Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Sae Ron Did Date and Garo Sero Institute Releases Two More Intimate Photos and Kim Soo Hyun’s Handwritten Love Letter During His Military Enlistment and a Postcard From Paris
I’ve covered so many wild fall from graces – drug use, prostitution, drunk driving, bullying, assault, tax evasion, and more – and cannot believe that the top drama actor from South Korea will also top the list for one of the grossest violations in pedophilia, i.e. romantically intimate with an underage person. I don’t know if those two actually had sex before she came of age but if she wasn’t yet then throw in statutory rape on top of that. The downfall of Kim Soo Hyun accelerated now on the third day of Youtube gossip channel Garo Sero Institute revealing that he dated now deceased young actress Kim Sae Ron for 6 years starting in 2015 when she was only 15 years old and also played a role in her post drunk driving stress by his agency Gold Medalist pressuring her to repay fines the agency paid on her behalf after the DUI incident. GM’s immediate stance was denying all the claims and threatening to sue, but in the two days since Garo Sero has released more intimate pictures of Kim Soo Hyun kissing or close to kissing Kim Sae Ron (appears from the same picture moment as the one she posted last year during the Queen of Tears airing), her text message to him pleading for support and leniency on repayment, and now his handwritten love letter to her in 2018 when he was in the military, pictures he texted to her of himself in the military, and a handwritten postcard from Paris when he was there and missing her. Her family has said they did not know she was dating him until the 2019 postcard arrived at the house and wanted them to breakup but he promised to marry her and she was of age by then so they allowed them to continue dating, and they broke up eventually in 2021.
Dispatch has also joined the party with an article confirming Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Sae Ron dated, saying it was an open secret in the industry but Kim Soo Hyun could never admit it because of her age, and that Dispatch received from his team the text message Kim Sae Ron sent him begging for help so his side did indeed leak it to the media. At this point, he has the drama Knock Off premiering next month on Disney+ and 19 endorsements on deck, so far one has deleted his picture from their homepage, another removed a video he was in, and a third announced it was pausing his work. GM remains silent today with their last statement yesterday and its position has not changed and it’s drafting a response. I think the only response is to admit to the relationship and beg for forgiveness because there is no way a 6-year relationship doesn’t have even more concrete evidence than released so far. One of Kim Soo Hyun’s biggest fans on Instagram with 400K fans shut down today, posting “to an actor I once admired, goodbye” on a black backdrop. It’s easy as a viewer to stop watching anything with him in it but he’s been such a force in the industry it’s going to be hard for companies financially invested to drop him because too much money is at stake. So what we’re seeing is that financial reality butting up against the undeniable truth revealed that he is a phenomenally shitty human being, who likely committed a statutory crime (underage persons cannot legally consent) and if not then at least a gross violation of basic decency and moral character in both dating someone so young and his callousness towards her after she made a mistake and needed understanding. Karma is a bitch and there is a Chinese saying “if you walk night roads often you’ll run into a ghost eventually” i.e. things you try to hide always have a way of coming out.
This is just so gross to see. I remember dispatch once said they followed him for years since his debut and found nothing so they stopped. Now, it sounded like they had evidence of him dating all these years but they just didn’t expose it until now

I was on the fence not judging KSH. But dang claim of his innocence is now a hard sell per all these new pieces of information (I still hesitate to say “evidence” cuz no legal procedures involved yet to corroborate the online reports).
From my POV, KSR’s underage while having a (perhaps sexual) relationship with a much older man is the first thing most unacceptable. The second thing I disapprove of is how her debt might have driven her to suicide and she tried to seek help with no mercy from her powerful ex at all? Many young people are still mentally vulnerable by their early 20s cuz their brains and characters are still developing, let alone she dated in her teens. I don’t think teens can rationally judge and make best decisions for themselves all the time. There is a reason why they are called “minors” before turning legal age for adulthood. The challenges from DUI indictment, broken relationship, career fallout, and financial distress altogether might be too overwhelming for KSR to handle given her young age. So, she chose such a tragic exit from all the hardship. I feel so sorry for her.

Goodness, this scandal is really blowing up. I dont like Kim Soo Hyun for afew years now..I think if started after that My Love from the Star, I got so uncomfortable watching him… then I completely stop watching his dramas. But I never realised he could be like these. I bet there are more like him but we just dont know.

There are so many males (and females) that are crazy and hungry for teens. We are not talking about the sick males (pedos) who molest the little ones, tho there are millions of those out there too. It’s been like that for hundreds, thousands of years. In every country. It’s in male’s nature. We need to explain it to children without scaring them. Usually, the parents and older relatives protect the vulnerable youngsters. It looks like in this case, poor girl had no one protecting her or teaching her good morals. Opposite, looks like all her family are vultures feeding of her.
That’s why parents who care in the US try to take their kids’ education in their own care. Forget about actors, looks like most of the sexual predators try to get hired by schools, because that’s where their favorite pray is stuck with them in the same place for hours, days, years.
@Lin, I honestly gave a sigh of relieve when I learned I was gonna raise a baby boy not girl. Although underage boys are equally vulnerable in this predatory age and need guardians’ protection, there are more worries about physical safety of girls because of their weaker physical strength. It’s just gender difference from genes. As a parent, I have to constantly remind my boy of staying away from suspicious people and be wary of the environment around him when he’s outside home.

@sk2 Divya Bharti was groomed by her husband and cut ties with her family. It’s not clear if her death was suicide or not. She had alcohol with drugs which could have numbed her senses. Actually she had gusets in her apartment at time of her fall. She was very lively and adventurous. Only sky God knows what happened to her.
I am not defending KSH here, but am just curious why her family did not protect her. As a parent, if I am aware that an adult (no matter how famous) is interested in or is grooming my 15 yr old child, I would have done everything I can to prevent the relationship from even starting.. even resorting to reporting the incident to authorities. KSR was not only hurt by KSH, she was also severely let down by all the adults in her own family, who should have provided guidance and counsel to a 15 yr old girl, innocent to the ways of the world, in making the right decisions on relationships. And to read that she was their sole breadwinner, what the heck were they (the adults) doing? Don’t they have jobs? Can’t imagine the burden on her poor shoulders!
The family said they didn’t know about the relationship initially. It’s not rare for her to keep in contact with fellow actors and actresses. It’s when she kept receiving pictures and messages from him that they finally found out, at which point they did in fact disapprove of it. By then she was of age and he said he was serious about her and they even discussed marriage at some point.
If he weren’t so callous or cold towards her over the debt, she wouldn’t feel so burdened to a point of no return, and all this truth about his disgusting nature would’ve never came to light. He really shot himself in the foot here.

You are assuming, it’s like a normal open relationship. Both KSH and KSR probably hid it at first. Between the two, there is great disparity in age, status and income. So KSH is being viewed negatively.

Mounting evidence is too strong to be ignored nor denied. I feel sick in the bones at the pain Kim Sae Ron must have felt after the breakup, career downfall, betrayer and others. she was so lonely. I read even her neighbours have seen her crying alone on stairs etc… So heartbreaking.
I hope those that cause hurt and harm towards this young girl will bear consequence. Grooming clearly happened. But was there sexual relationship when she was still underage…I dont know. Two things I read that he did really make me sick to my bones – he deliberately released her phone number to the press to hound her. And he didn’t even give her the option to work out a payment plan.

In hind sight, I wish she had built on that picture she posted, and revealed the entire sordid truth to the world. I wish she hadn’t made that final decision to self exit. I wish she had felt that someone powerful had her back and would support her.

Serenade
Today is a wonderful Saturday, with weather that seems to bless our faces with bright smiles. Just thinking about it makes me happy, but it’s also a sad day. Even though it feels like it will be an ordinary day, today has become an extraordinary one.
As I sang in the morning, I felt my heart become lighter. It was a moment of happiness, even though it was brief. The thought that this moment might be the last in this setting made me feel somewhat strange.
It feels like a farewell, and that brings about an odd sense of loneliness. The recent days have been so busy, and that has made me reflect deeply. I was determined to stay strong and face the times ahead.
Looking at the faces of those who came to see me, I was overwhelmed by emotions. There are so many people I still want to see, talk to, and share moments with. But time flows mercilessly, and it feels like it’s slipping through my fingers.
Even so, I hope to keep this memory as a precious one in my heart. Whenever I feel lonely, I will think of this moment and find comfort. There are many people I miss, and I long for the warmth of those memories.
Although today may feel like a farewell, I believe we’ll meet again with bright smiles. That thought brings me comfort and strength.

Wow! He can write! At least this letter gives me that impression if nothing lost in the translation. Older women with more life experience in relationship may not be hypnotized by sensational and sweet talking. But I bet as young as KSR back then, it’s hard for her to resist such courting from a popular star that many swooned over back then. Now it has become a tragic encounter for KSR. I feel so sorry for her. This is the reason that I, as a parent, always advocates for teens to better stay away from romance until they are older.
Not sure but I think statutory rape in Korea doesn’t apply to anyone over 13. They started dating when she was 15 so he would have avoided that I think. What is there to whitewash KSR? She was a kid who was groomed, manipulated, gaslighted, socially isolated, and let down by all adults around her. Was used by her family for money. Do you expect anyone to grow up with a healthy, sane mind after this? Despite this, there is evidence that she tried to move on, but the media and KSH/ GM did not let her be. She never got a chance to grow up as a normal adult. I do not blame her one bit. She was just a poor victim.
