We’re a little over a week away from the premiere of the Mon-Tues KBS drama Spy Myung Wol. Since Heartstrings has disappointed me, this naturally vaults up there to become my next most anticipated K-drama. But I’m keeping expectations low, sort of like I did with My Princess.
KBS released a slew of official stills. Bringing you the highlights only, but I just love how cheeky AND hot everyone looks. Also, the desire to literally paw paw at Eric is overwhelming. Thank god I can’t get my hands on him, otherwise he’d be in trouble. Both Eric and Lee Jin Wook clearly came back from the army having eaten extra sexy pills.
Written preview for episode 1:
Assigned to the Hallyu Control Division [of the North Korean government], Myung Wol wants to work special ops but doesn’t have the opportunity. Due to certain reasons, Myung Wol accepts an undercover assignment that takes her to Singapore.
She has an encounter with Hallyu star Kang Woo, who is performing a showcase in Singapore. Myung Wol and Kang Woo’s complications disrupts her assignment and eventually causes her to fail in her task.
Myung Wol wants to rehabilitate her reputation so she goes to South Korea to find Kang Woo, the man with whom she has an ill-fated destiny…..

North Korea has a Hallyu Control Division?!...LMFAO!!!!...so i'm guessing there's a seperate department for Yonsama, Choi Ji Woo and all the kpop boybands...eitherways the posters are lovely...most playful posters I have seen for a romcom this year...and the boys sure are super hot!!!
The written preview doesn't sound as interesting as the video preview. My bar for this drama is set at 7 (from a scale of 1-10) Maybe this drama will blow me away.
ps- I haven't seen Heartstrings but from Dramabeans' recap i think i'm going to like this school-based drama angst. But haven't started cause i'm still trying to catch up on other dramas.
Same here.. just finished "best love" and now catching up on "romance town" and "lie to me". After that I wanna check out "heartstring", and if i get the chance, i wanna also check out "I need romance", but the one I can't wait for is This drama!!! :D can't wait for July 11th to come
I'm getting the My Princess vibe from this too. It's probably because the leads look gorgeous together. I love Han Ye Seul's stills. I've been a huge fan of hers since I saw Fantasy Couple a long time ago. I'm so excited for this drama.
And I actually loved My Princess even though the plot was mediocre. Kim Tae Hee and Song Seung Heon had AMAZING chemistry so I was able to forgive many things to see those two together. I really hope that Eric and Han Ye Seul deliver for the chemistry department.
