I think leaving such a clear to the crimes has to do more with self importance than stupidity (although I'm not ruling the latter out obviously). There have been a lot of scandals in Korean entertainment and fans have stood by their idols (even PSH returned to his job) and they had someone (or more than one person) in the police also. So he probably thought he would get away with it. They all did. One of them got away with filming someone without their consent a few years ago no? Not a lot of people believed the poor woman then.
Now everyone will KNOW that they will not get away with hurting women.
