Koala Announcement: A Change is Likely Gonna Come

Everyone around me has been bugging me to write this post, and of course I dragged my feet until the last possible moment. Part of me feels like I’m pulling a Brett Favre (I’m retiring, oh wait, I’m back, nope, retiring for good, just a moment I’ll play one more year…..), but it’s the sad reality that I simply cannot find anymore time to write about my beloved dramas the way I used to starting from tomorrow onwards. I’m starting a new job, chingus! I’ve been working full time already, but now I’m taking on an even more challenging role in my profession, and with it comes commensurately more responsibilities and multiple more hats to wear. I’m already bending time and space in order to write as much as I have for the past two years, and it has been a fabulous ride I’m loathe to interrupt.

I have no idea what the future will entail, only that I likely won’t be writing as much or as often. Sometimes I may go days between a post, or maybe not. I may post multiple times a day when I have time, or may not. I simply don’t know at this point, other than a change is likely going to come. For better or worse, I treasure my happy little home here that so many of you have made such a fun place to putter around, and I will endeavor to keep it going for as long as I can. Even if Hello Kitty wears a koala costume, everyone can still tell it’s Kitty inside. No matter how this blog morphs and adapts based on my life, I hope I can always write about dramas, and hear people share their own experiences and opinions with me. This has been a public announcement from Koala. If anyone has discovered the ability to clone oneself, please contact me ASAP.

  • NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

but in seriousness...good luck and i will definitely still check your site once a day not the usual 3x/day.

  • All I can say is :((((((((((((
But after all, your job is more important than your site, so you should give your best to your job, but don't forget that we readers will always be supporting you! :)

  • Congratulations!! I'm very happy for you on your new job. If I recall correctly, about a year ago when Dream High was on air, you wanted that to come true for yourself and so it did! ........ yet........ I can't help but feel sad that I won't have a daily dose of your thoughts and witty remarks (gosh I loved too many of them). Definitely all the best!!!

    • You remember! Yeah, at my seniority level in my profession, changing jobs takes quite a lot of time and networking resources to find the right fit. Took a year from when I started bitching about my job for me to land the perfect next opportunity. :-) It's a step up, but also about triple my stress level and people reporting to me. Which will surely lead to less time to goof off, sigh.

Thanks for all the support from everyone. I really appreciate it~

      • And we really, really, really appreciate you. YOU are most important to us, of course, but more so, to yourself. So don't stress yourself even more with this blog. Write when you can, post when you're able. All the best to you in your new job!

Wow, you are such a juggler, because I know you also have a wonderful husband and kid(s?). I can't even imagine how you've done what you have been doing for so long so competently - watching so many dramas, writing, posting... whew! You are indeed our great Captain Koala. Hat's off to you!

Take care of yourself always. Love you much... *Hugs and kisses*

  • Most of time I’m a silent reader, but I can tell your blog is a wonderful and insightful source of information for me. Take your time, do your best I’ll be happy to read your posts even if it’s one post a week (sincerely I hope to be much more frequent). Don’t let the job erode your sharp and witty sense of humor, and your natural writing skills:)

  • You already work full-time?!?! And I believe you have little koalas and a Mr. Koala who love you and want some of your time. So, it's a miracle you've been doing as much as you have already. Thank you! Hope your new job is fabulous for you, and I will look forward to any posts you are able to write in the future.

P.S. How BIG is the koala-disguised Hello Kitty in the tree? The bark of that tree is really neat!

  • Awww, this is such a bittersweet post ockoala. I loved coming here for your up-to-the-minute updates, but I understand that real life is very important, especially since you are starting a new job! Nevertheless, congratulations and best of luck in everything you do!

  • Although I am so sad about this and I will surely miss your daily updates but congratulation for your new work/challenge and I wish you the best luck my dear.

I really enjoyed a lot while reading your thoughts and this become one of my favorite blogs that I must check every day. And I will still check it eagerly for any new post in future ^_^

  • What a sad day and year for K-Drama.
AM Addiction announced their plan to close the website today.

Thundie stops her activities earlier this year.
K-Drama world was shaken up due to the Megaupload and file-sharing business.

    I'm sad. :(

But I'm very happy for you, Koala :D
Good luck to you! I'm very glad your career is going well.

      • Ahahaha, your post (almost) made me laugh.

But hey, it's sad for us, but it's a happy promotion for Ms. Koala, so...Congratulations! I'm definitely going to miss the only blogger I know who covers Korea, Japan, Taiwan, and China, but I'm always going to look forward to if and when you post. Thank you for spending so much time in making this site fulfilling for us drama fans :)

  • I just happen to find your blog a few days ago and thought that it was a really good and fun one, usually I never post I enjoy being silent, but with the really good news (for you ^^) Congratulations!!! Wish you the best in this new adventure - and sad ones for us. I decide to write and tell you that I will miss you and your blog. Thank you very much for your time and to share with us your thoughts, I enjoy it.
Hope you have a little time to give to us. If not, take care, live well and be happy.
