The netizens appear just as critical on looks for both female stars as well as male stars and the latest person in their cross hairs is TW-singer Wilbur Pan. This week there was a wild picture of him like two sizes bigger circulating with mockery of his massive weight gain, and it turns out to a doctored shot. However he does appear to be rounder since late spring when he kicked off his concert tour in May and was seen chubbier. There was a joke that his name is not Pan Wei Bo (Wilbur Pan) but now Pan Wei Hou (Weight Pan), and he leaned into it thanking fans for supporting Pan Wei Hou as his concerts have sold out. Wilbur is officially an ahjusshi being 44-years old so if he’s not as idol visual as before it’s fine, and so long as his fandom still loves watching him perform.

As long as he can sing, he can be as round as he wants to be, within healthy gain of weight.
I am wondering if his weight affects his voice. LOL. I know that visuals are important, but I hope he stays physically and mentally healthy and just does his thing the best way he knows how.
Can he sing as always? All that matters.
In the West, we had great vocalists even though they were not necessarily attractive. But they went down in history for their musical contributions. If they suffer when someone gains weight knowing that their skills are what matters, why do they bother to criticize beautiful people who have no talent? Isn’t it contradictory?
It is obvious that women and men are criticized, however, the weight of reactions and expectations are often different.
