Awwww, this is one of my fave medical J-doramas and the final casting announcement this week just feels like half the wind got sucked out of it. The K-drama adaptation of Unnatural has confirmed that Yoona and Lee Jin Wook will be the leads, with the drama aiming for an early 2027 release. The female lead doctor is such a … Continue reading →
So I’ve not watched a J-dorama in years but one of the last ones I watched was Unnatural back in 2018 starring Ishihara Satomi. It’s a forensic drama that has a clinical emotionless female lead tackling weird deaths with seemingly natural element but in truth has unnatural causes that she needs to solve. A K-drama adaptation was announced in 2022 … Continue reading →
So it’s been both a relatively uneventful year in K-dramas (to date) with both buzzy hits and critically acclaimed releases. I still think when When the Stars Gossip premiered on January 4th, 2025 it just jinxed the entire year lol. Anyhoo, the Joynews poll of over a hundred K-ent insiders released their picks for Best K-drama Couple and it’s none … Continue reading →
The annual year end lists tend to start earlier and earlier which is fine, the last two months tend to fly by anyways. The annual Joynews poll of 110 K-ent insiders from producers, to agents, to writers, to directors and more is out and the first category is Top Drama Actor/Actress of the year. IU leads with 23 votes thanks … Continue reading →
The tale of a modern Michelin starred chef and her tyrant gourmet counissoeur in sageuk K-drama Bon Appétit, Your Majesty wrapped its incredibly successful run this weekend, with the final episode getting 17.107% and making it the 7th highest rated drama in tvN history. It now sits right under another time-traveling to Joseon era chef K-drama in Queen Cheorin (Mr. … Continue reading →
I think there is a chance that tvN weekend drama Bon Appétit, Your Majesty could hit 20% ratings for the cable network and become one of it’s top rated dramas of all time what with six more episodes remaining. But even not accomplishing that feat doesn’t diminish that it’s a bona fide hit for the network and a much needed … Continue reading →
This weekend tvN drama Bon Appétit, Your Majesty confirmed whether the promising premiere weekend ratings and trend was a fluke or portended a true hit on our hands. It’s the latter as episode 4 went up an incredible nearly 4% increase to 11.063% ratings, which makes it the highest rated tvN drama of 2025 thus far. This harkens back to … Continue reading →
Here comes the K-netizen perfection police lol. I think it must be exhausting trying to find reasons to nitpick but here we are again. tvN premiered new weekend drama Bon Appétit, Your Majesty to a very promising start, good opening ratings close to 5% and then going up nearly 2% to high 6% range. But this week there are rumblings … Continue reading →
Like a parched and hungry traveler in the desert of K-drama land, new tvN weekend drama Bon Appétit, Your Majesty  has premiered to be the much needed sustenance for viewers. The drama starring Yoona as a time traveling to Joseon era Michelin starred chef and Lee Chae Min as the foodie King with a penchant for period appropriate violence and … Continue reading →
Next month in August the sageuk romance with a modern girl time-travel element Bon Appétite, Your Majesty will premiere on tvN in the Sat-Sun time slot. It’s really been a ratings desert all through K-drama land and while this drama may not break that trend hopefully it adds some sizzle to deliver a fun watch. The drama stars Yoona as … Continue reading →

Leads Yoona and Lee Chae Min give audiences a glimpse of their before meeting life, she’s a top Michelin star chef in modern times and he’s a tyrant King in historical times. … Continue reading →
So the timing seems off to kick start filming right before the lunar new year holiday stretch but likely this drama was already delayed after needing to re-cast the male lead. Sageuk romance A Tyrant’s Chef with Yoona and Lee Chae Min will start filming this week on January 23rd. Complaints from netizens have ended after original male lead Park … Continue reading →
Well this is both fast and really odd of a pick. K-ent is reporting that young actor Lee Chae Min has been offered the male lead in the K-drama A Tyrant’s Chef with still confirmed female lead Yoona. The male lead role was recently opened back up after Park Sung Hoon dropped out post his Squid Game 2 parody porn … Continue reading →
