Zhang Ling He and Wang Chu Ran Exude Top Visuals in Low Key Outfits in First Filming Stills From Republic Era Period C-rama Overdo
I love how fast C-netizens and their tabloids get the most current visuals of on set drama filming. It’s just days ago that filming started for Republic era period C-drama Overdo (Chinese title 这一秒过火 This Second Overheat) adapted from the novel by writer Fei Wo Si Can best known for bringing the angst and tormented love pain. The official character posters for leads Zhang Ling He and Wang Chu Ran were nicely on mood but a tad too overly photoshopped. So I’m loving these on set pictures of the two filming, the costumes look muted and low key which highlights these two’s collective insane visuals in terms of height, physique, and facial structure. This is what a human walking out of a mango would look like lol. I’m so seated for this drama.
They are both very good looking people and make a very cute couple. I like WCR’s acting in “Are You The One” so I hope I will enjoy this one too.
I hope the female lead has decent writing.🙏
One of the aspects I dislike about C-dramas is the lack of ideas for female characters. They only seem to have two archetypes in mind: 1) Damsel in distress. 2) “Superwoman”. Neither of them are given development or depth.
I also despise Gary Stu’s, but at lest, they are less common.
Other than Su Wen Li from Miss S, I can’t recall an interesting female lead in a Republican C-drama.
The other side of the coin is that people, in particular, don’t like to wait for a leading lady to develop. I remember that in the first five episodes of The Demon Hunter’s Romance, people were ready to be discontent with how fragile the female lead was, despite the fact that she was ill.
