Disney+ Starts Promoting High Profile K-drama Tempest with Jeon Ji Hyun and Kang Dong Won Airing September 2025 — 8 Comments

  1. Talking about logic, no genres can be more illogical and nonsensical than Chinese costume drama. LOL. That being said, I found a handful of C costume dramas entertaining. Examples include The Double and Blossom last year, Legend of Zanghai and Coroner’s diary this year. Other than these few, I tried Feud, the Demon Hunter’s Romance, the Glory, the Prisoner of Beauty, and the most recently aired the Wanted Detective as well as the Immortal Ascension, just to name a few, but they all failed me with plot snooze fest and boring presence of the acting.

So, I’m back to K dramaland again and as expected after boredom with Cdrama. LOL. Political thrillers don’t have to make sense since from the get-go, the ideas of entertaining audience with politics are already absurd. Politics are boring. The only exception is Trump-ish drama. LOL. I’m currently watching Netflix action thriller, Trigger, starring two excellent actors Kim Nam-gil and Kim Young-kwang. The series is exceeding my expectation. So far, I’ve rarely got disappointed at K thrillers yet, specifically in the genres of political thrillers and law & Order.

I’ll be looking forward to this Disney+ thriller. The brief synopsis looks wild but intriguing.

    • Lol hahaha the needs to compared c-drama and kdrama makes me laugh at you hahahhah we know both that c-drama are dominating international fans these days mora than kdrama. And talking about boring presence of acting, you dont get to say that if you are an avid fans of K-drama hahahhaha.Shut the fuck up, keep THE PRISONER OF BEAUTY OUT OF YOUR DIRTY MOUTH.There is nothing more boring than the repetitive storyline between north and south korea and oh,the bullying shit script.

      • CDramas are definitely NOT dominating international fans lmao. Korean actors and actresses are still way more well-known internationally than CDrama stars, just compare their Instagram followers. Compare also the amount of TikTok and YouTube edits for KDramas and CDramas as well as the number of members of KDrama and CDrama subreddits, and you get your answer. KDramas are still more in demand overall, that’s why there are more of them on Netflix, Prime, Viu, Disney Plus, Apple, etc.

It’s fine if you prefer CDramas, but let’s be for real now lol

      • Oh wow, can you stop embarrassing yourself? Unless you are 12 so puberty is hitting you so being an irrational fangirl would be somewhat expected.

Kdrama is miles ahead of cdrama when it comes to viewership internationally and it is not even close. I primarily watch cdrama so don’t even start. It is now it is.

Also please. Prisoner of beauty wasn’t even a hit in China, never mind internationally. Get a grip.

      • @ambie, you’re laughable being delirious throughout with mouth foaming. LOL. Perhaps viewership on illegal streaming sites has misled you with disillusion that Cdrama dominates. LOL. So far on all the international streaming sites, Kdrama is still a more popular and prevailing genre than Cdrama.

  2. Not really fan of the genre but I love the leads. I mean…Kang Dong Won on a TV series!!! Just for that reason alone people will definitely tune in.
It kinda gives me hope for a Won Bin acting comeback….

  3. They put two of the most popular people in Korean entertainment that I never thought would be in a drama together. It’s been ages since the main dude has been in a drama. Should be interesting to see if they work out. It would be a let down if the show tanks though. I mean they are some of the best actors to get.
