Nam Joo Hyuk is the New Menswear Eider Spokesperson Replacing Longtime Brand Representative Kim Soo Hyun
I’ve chosen not to follow along on the still ongoing legal saga with actor Kim Soo Hyun after he was accused of dating now deceased actress Kim Sae Ron when she was still underage. Much ensued in the two months since her death and those allegations, and now there are lawsuits going both ways (his agency against her side, and her side against his agency), and also lawsuits by companies that used Kim Soo Hyun as a spokesperson and terminated the contract after the scandal is now demanding penalties and damages. Sportswear brand Eider has used Kim Soo Hyun for over a decade, I recall it started after Dream High and may be one of his longest brand partnerships. As far as I’m aware Eider is not one of the companies suing him, but this week the brand did finally unveil a new male spokesperson and the pick is K-actor Nam Joo Hyuk. The brand skews younger in customer demographics so this feels like a solid pick to move forward on – someone in his relatively young prime who gives off a fit, outdoorsy vibe.

The brand definitely has a type. I didn’t realize how similar Nam Joo Hyuk’s and Kim Soo Hyun’s facial features are until you posted their pictures side by side.
Visually, he is a better looking guy than KSH anyway. Good switch for the brand!
