Lee Young Ae and Yoo Ji Tae to Star in Healing Romance K-drama Jae Ae’s Young In
Well this is an unexpected surprise, two decorated leading star veterans in K-ent doing a K-drama together, and it’s a reunion after their last project 25 years ago. Lee Young Ae and Yoo Ji Tae are confirmed for K-drama titled Jae Ae’s Young In, and I’m getting that their names in the drama haha. It’s a healing romance between an art professor grieving the loss of her child and an architect who suffers from dissociative amnesia. These two worked together quarter of a century ago in the K-movie One Fine Spring Day and goodness does that make me feel old. This drama will be from the PD of The Art of Seduction and The Defects with the screenwriter of Hotel King and Feast of the Gods.

I don’t see the romance appeal with (almost) middle-aged protagonists in KDRAMAS in particular. It’s good if it’s not used as a main resource e.g. Tempest. In all the ones I’ve watched, the different stages of life are not well addressed and the characters end up acting like teenagers.
I love them both, and I do hope that @Hyu’s concern from above does not manifest itself. I’m exhausted by all the high school and college love stories as if people can’t find love again when they are older. But I also get the exhaustion when we do get older actors (my age) with romance scripts as if they were still 20. I do not care about the same things as I did when I was twenty. But people my age are having interesting and exciting lives. My best friend fell in love again after a terrible marriage, and I am so happy for her, and I’m definitely enjoying watching this love more than the terrible guy she married. 😀
