Written Preview for Episode 7 of Drunken to Love You

Drunken to Love You is just such an exquisite drama, one that marinates in real emotional build-up, taking the viewer from watching two strangers meet to understanding how they could fall in love. I hope this week’s episode doesn’t end with another high-blood pressure inducing cliffhanger. It’s been a tough week waiting to see whether Avril’s evil plot worked. I like to think that regardless of whether Jie Xiu remembers the night with Xiao Ru or not, he knows his true feelings for her now. Avril or no Avril, he’s going to go for the woman that that brings happiness and joy into his life.

Written preview for episode 7:

Jie Xiu wakes up after getting drunk last night, discovering to his shock that the woman next to him is Avril. The intensity of last night is murky for Jie Xiu, and he wonders if he dreamt it in his drunken state? Or was it a beautiful misunderstanding? Avril sees Jie Xiu’s heart drifting further and further away from her. She loves him still, and finally realizes the error of her ways. She decides to once again grab hold of Jie Xiu’s heart. Using a picture snapped by the paparazzi, it becomes Avril’s best chance to convince Jie Xiu that she cares about him. She decides to hold a press conference to expose their relationship.

Xiao Ru, who has gotten seasick on the ship of happiness captained by Jie Xiu, finally reaches shore and makes a decision in her heart as to the proper place for her and Jie Xiu. Except, can she really face Jie Xiu without any feelings? Can she resist that inexplicable attraction to Jie Xiu? And will Avril’s press conference successfully make Xiao Ru leave Jie Xiu? Xiao Ru and Avril, one is a captive with Stockhold Syndrome, the other a queen who refuses to relinquish her hold on her territory. This love battle, who will be the one ruled out?

  1. here’s a preview.. with a few more sentences that may shed more light on AW’s beeeeeg announcement

me thinks she’s gonna pick career over love again.. esp since Rickie has laid out a perfect escape plan for her…..since the published pictures don’t show the facial expression of the alleged male protagonist… whom the reporter keeps insisting is SJX….

      • Fav Movie Ever!! She doesn’t get it yet!! Really?? Common, get over it, girl, you play around, but in your heart Song Jie Xiu is the only one, right? In Jie Xiu’s heart, Ai Wei, is the only one? mmm I wonder? mmm*(thinking)* Eh, NO!! LOL, You play with him, get comfort, thinking that he always be there for you, and Then.Came. Lin Xiao Ru
        LOVE IT!! LOL

  2. I’m very grateful to you for filling us in on the TWdrama front. I don’t know how you do it all! Anyway, it’s nice to have a place to go to see what’s happening with our favorite Taiwanese dramas, too. ^^

  3. Avril will choose her career FOR SURE. If not, JX and XR will def have to divorce, and story will end there. hehe..

Can’t wait for Ep 7, but >.< I won't be able to catch it live or right after! Have to wait for a few more days sighs

  4. Someone has done this service for all – doing screen cap with all the scenes previously shown in preview for future episodes

It’s such a torture to wait one week for one episode =_=
And I can’t keep my eyes off with JX wearing that damn fine leather jacket. (He knows how to pick the right clothes!! He definitely won’t look as good with those collared leather jacket but he picked this biker style…*drooling*)

  5. Ok – I admit to cheating on DTLY with LTM – I can’t help it… I only have so much time. While I still really really love DTLY, I’m no longer eagerly anticipating it like before. It’s actually better this way since they only show 1 episode a week.

To me, the long time TW drama viewer, this is very standard TW fare just done much better. 🙂 I love my TW dramas for their TW drama feel. I don’t know how to explain it but I’m along for the ride and loving every minute of this emotionally charge and funny and sad-at-times drama. I think Avril will pick her career – because it seems to me that it would not be nice to out JX anyways. So I hope she picks her career cause frankly, she needs to move on eventually. I love JX and XR. Jia you!!

Bring on the angst & the tears 🙁 We are definitely headed closer and closer towards the all mighty required OTP split.

    • I am with you. I grew up watching T and HK movies and dramas.

While Tdramas are gd and captivating, there’s often also that element sometimes of too much OTT-exaggeration and predictability, without engaging credibility – and this drama still borders on this sometimes for me:
One recent ep 6 scene that immediately comes to mind = Avril dining in the same restaurant all the while, WITHOUT either of the couple noticing her at all. At least arrange to have Avril sit behind some angled wall or something to make this more credible.

Also that plot device of gf-switching.
I recall Fated To Love You used it too. Ethan was in some feverish-stupor, and it was Chen Qiao-en tending to him and making out … then next day it was his gf in the room and he was left wondering if he imagined it.

I love the leads in DTLY which keeps me coming back. But I am not so captivated by everything in this drama that I’d need my fix every 2 days. Thankfully Best Love, Romance Town and Manny is filling the wkday answer for work de-stress.

I haven’t even found time to add City Hunter and Lie To me yet! But nice to know there are potentially- interesting dramas awaiting catch up IF we get into a period of drama-void (which sometimes happen with a spate of blah dramas).
